Re: 67-72 Trucks are Everywhere
The 67-72 trucks ARE everywhere. It's the 73-80 that are harder to find. When the "CASH for clunkers" deal hit, most people who had 67-72 didn't give them up because they were becoming antiques and the 81-present were new enough they still ran good.

Re: 67-72 Trucks are Everywhere
The '72 with the front clip may get be pulled in the garage and dismantled. Cabs in the Great North Wet are usually pretty rough that one is questionable. When I pull it out of the yard I will get a better look at stuff. We acutally have a Suburdan that needs a nose so it may end up saving 3 or 4 trucks with donations.

Re: 67-72 Trucks are Everywhere
So does this mean we should be picking up the 73-80 trucks when we can find them then? I saw a 1973 GMC 3/4 ton on Craigslist for like 1500 obo. I wouldn't mind having a first year version of that newer body style.

Re: 67-72 Trucks are Everywhere
I would say, yes! Just look through some of the pic pages here on this forum. I went through all of the 71-87 half ton short bed pics and I'd say 90% of them were 81 and newer.

Re: 67-72 Trucks are Everywhere
Not that many in my area. I guess the Buffalo, NY winters ate them up pretty good. The ones that are around for sale are outrageously priced. Can't find anything around here less than $5K. Even at that price it's usually junk. You guys are lucky.

Re: 67-72 Trucks are Everywhere
We actually see quite a few up here in the Fairbanks area. And they come up on craigslist for about a grand to 5k depending on what's on them and their condition. I've seen a few drivers too and its always nice to see them when i'm out in mine because of that common interest.
Sometimes I think about selling my truck and there seems to be a decent market for it, unless they want a 4wd. I do get compliments on mine but the thing I question when I start to think about selling is if there would be a lot of interest. After all, just because a lot of people like the truck doesn't necessarily means they will buy it. |

Re: 67-72 Trucks are Everywhere
I see them all of the time on the road here, some still working and some that look real nice. Just on my street alone their is 4 and I know of at least 3 more within a mile of my house.
