Re: My 85 C20 "finally getting paint"
Got the new side markers in. Also put together the new chrome and stainless hitch reciever setup. Also, my bumper i bought 3 years ago was unfinished and rusted badly so on this new.one i sanded with acotchbrite and then adhesion promoter and then primer and gloss black. Hopefully that keeps the rust off for longer. |

What about a black circle around the bowtie?

Re: My 85 C20 "finally getting paint"
Scoti, im gonna just roll with the red bowtie. Who knows, maybe itll be a wash and ill have to regroup.
About the blue truck, thanks, it was supposed to be a 2,000 dollar ride for my little brother but once i dove in well ypu know. The truck was so rigged everything needed replacing. Engine, every single hose, clamp, exhaust work, carb rebuild, harness was in tatters, added new wheels, fixed brake lights, complete new brake system, fixed four different leaks in the transmission, still have a ways to go. ive got $4,200 in it now. |

Re: My 85 C20 "finally getting paint"
Steel. Somehow the PYO's just looks to "easy" to me. They lack style and originality in my opinion. To me, it just looks slapped on.

Re: My 85 C20 "finally getting paint"
You might set a record if your truck already has paint! It took me 5 months to get paint.

Re: My 85 C20 "finally getting paint"
Well, it doesnt take and shouldnt have taken that long, but bodyshops take in so much work at once they cant finish one. This guy i just caught at a good time and paid enough money to have it done quick

Re: My 85 C20 "finally getting paint"
I think the PYOs bring the truck up to date without overdoing it. Plus no matter how hard you are on them, within reason, they can almost always be brought back to a shine.

Re: My 85 C20 "finally getting paint"
x2. I've been following your truck since you gave the steelies a fresh coat of gloss white. Freshen them up one more time and put the dog dish caps back on, OEM style. You can always have a second set of shoes as the mood strikes, but I'd redo the factory steelies and caps and at least keep them if not run them. |
