Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Thanks! Your wagon is looking great too 68Basket! It is amazing how much nicer the wagon rides with the new suspsion and steering upgrades. We also had a carpet made for the rear cargo area and had the front and rear seats re-foamed and they are soo much nicer now. It still is a little slugish with the 2 speed powerglide, but that might change next summer, maybe a 200r4

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

I like it. I picked up a 63 belair wagon about a year ago just a body and a complete 63 impala 4dr parts car 327/powerglide for parts. I haven't started on it but in a few weeks I plan on removing the parts car from the woods where its been for the last 20 years. I wanted to wait till I was sure snakes weren't crawling to pull it out haha.

A TH350 can be transplanted easily. Driveshaft requires no modifications, yoke is same.... Takes a little craftyness to hook up shift linkage, not much though. A TH350 w/ lockup converter drops revs approximate 350 RPM's. I performed this swap on my 67 Bel Air. That lower first gear made a big difference in driveability. A TH350, whether lockup or not would be a much cheaper option...

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Just got back from a little beach trip, got the new SBC broken in and really enjoyed the Pro-Touring set-up, now me thinks it needs a overdrive transmission!

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Too many cars and not enough room! The fun part was the trip home and installing the new pro-touring suspension, now it just sits and doesn't get driven much because we have so many cars and trucks. And we have some plans for our 1969 custom/10

Re: 1963 Belair Wagon

Well lots of lookers and a few bids but no sale on E-bay, Think I will wait until summer is closer and ask more for it. All the pro-touring set-ups are running in the mid 30`s so I think I need to look at that price point to attract the guys that have the $$, in the mean time I bought myself a trans jack for my lift so I`m on the hunt for a 700R4
