Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Also finally found a set of 2013 Camaro SS wheels 20"x8.5" front and 20"x10" rear. Tire size is going to be 235-40-20 Front and 255-35-20 Rear.

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Such nice wheels! I'll definitely be following along on this one. Be interesting to see if you will have any clearance probs on the front. I certainly hope not!!

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Scored at the junkyard this weekend. Pulled a almost brand new set of Bilteins the HD front sway bar, and the correct E-brake cable I needed all for 60.00!!!!
So I got to work on it.

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Worked on the chassis today. Finished removing the old S10 body mounts and made way for the new mounts. Also test fit one of the 20" SS wheels.

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Well I'm definitely going to need a 2 1/2 inch spacer front and the rear I might need to swap out the S 10 lugs for the 14 mm Camaro lugs. once I get the body and the sheet-metal back on, I'll be able to check wheel fitment.

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Today I was able to get the cab resting on the new S10 chassis mounts. Feel pretty good about that. Have a little bit of tweaking to do. Nothing major.

In post #16 (3rd picture) and other post also, there is a canister behind the gas tank. Hate to show my ignorance, but what is that? Clay

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Need everyone's eyeballs on this one. How does the front wheels look in the wheelwells pretty centered using your eyeballs? I split the tape in the middle at 13 1/2 inches

Looks good, I would rather have it a little forward than back. When it comes down it should look just right...Jim

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
yeah that's what I am thinking. I'm going to go have my wheels and tires mounted. So Ill take another picture with those in place. I have 2" drop spindles for the front and 3" blocks for the rear.

Re: My 1950 Chevy "S-3100" Build (old+new)
Put the spindles on first, and put the largest diameter tires on that you have to gauge where they should go (I used 235/75R15's when I did mine). Also put the hood on too, these fenders can be up or down 2" in the front and you wouldn't know without the hood being on and the hood gaps fairly close.
