Re: 327 fan setup
That makes me sick to my stomach, did you see the photo of the fan on my truck the exact one you show in your photo, I through it away because I didn't want it at that time and was going with electric fans.

Re: 327 fan setup
Don't feel to bad Budman, its the Style of clutch that's so rare and a slightly different fan blade that made that combination Pimpston posted DIFFERENT than yours and so valuable. You did through away about $50.00 , not 600.00

Re: 327 fan setup
Just because, he wanted 600 bucks doesn't mean he got it or that it's worth it.

Re: 327 fan setup
Very true but I've seen just the clutches used for that price. Just a select few that would spend for that piece, not something I need luckily

Re: 327 fan setup
Yeah, for some lucky guys, their 600 bucks only feels like my 60 bucks....I just put a vintage air on my truck and I currently run a stainless steel 26" flex fan with 6 blades. Now I wonder if perhaps I would've been better off with a thermo-clutch. I went with the flex fan because it looks very similar to the factory fans on Caddies from the 70's. I figured if it works on a 472 or a 500 big block it should be overkill for a 283 with air.

Re: 327 fan setup
the $600 clutch is for a 64 vette they only made a few, the deal is it has a selectable modulator on it, guess it make the clutch "active". i saw the same one in the 60's truck parts book 283 V8 with AC is what it calls for next to the bumper guards, i finally found one on ebay and offered $400 and the guy said its worth more, i gave him a piece of my mind about it being worthless if no one buys it, once it didnt sale i never saw it again... so they do exisit, just at what cost??? i got mine from a member on the 67-72 forum for less then a C-note,blades and all(painted) so im good...

Re: 327 fan setup
Ok, I am overloaded now... I asked what time is it, and you explained how to build a watch! But it is all good info - thanks!!! So if you were me, would you track down these two parts for the fan and clutch as posted by Yelmer, or go with that 7-bladed beast? Really appreciate all the help! --Rob

This was your original statement that prompted the guys who like learning about original to chime in. I know I learned some things as I did a couple hours research on this fan blade. Try this guy for a great deal . http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ght=clutch+fan
