I don't know of anyone making panels in the USA. Most of the time if the panel is coated it is made in Taiwan.

Re: Looking for patch panels

I just ordered 10 pieces from Top Banana on Jan. 1st. I haven't heard from them nor gotten the shipment yet. The shipping from one of the vendors was over $100 so I went with Top Banana. We shall see...

I also did a 24 piece sheet metal order today with the big banana. We will see what happens.

Re: Looking for patch panels

I ordered some fender patch panels from Summit Racing, they were Goodmark brand and didn't fit well at all. Threw those away then bought some from The Filling Station, they were Counterpart brand. They were thicker metal and the radius of the bottom edge was way closer to stock.

I wouldn't order from any vendor that won't tell you what brand of parts they sell.

You should extend that 20% off all sheet metal sale until the end of Feb for those of us that are waiting for our tax refund's!! LOL I need like $2500 worth of sheet metal for my 66.

Re: Looking for patch panels

Well I pulled the trigger. I ordered all my sheet metal from DeWayne at Nsane Hot Rods. I ordered everything from the front fenders to the cab corners on both sides. They use the same supplier as Top Bananna but I heard back from them with every email and question I had. Great customer service! I emailed him for photos of all the fitment panels and fenders as they are my biggest concern and he went into the shop and snapped a bunch of pics of the 62 they are building. All the lines look clean and everything looks to fit just fine. I can't wait to get started on the disassembly and rebuild of my truck. It will be a slow build as it is going to be built at my fathers shop and I have to work on it as the wife lets go of the $$.

This will be the last time BOB looks like this.

Re: Looking for patch panels

I ordered my lower door panels from Top Banana on the 2nd, and they still haven't shipped out. I call to see what is going on and all I get is an answer machine. I should have spent the little bit of extra money and went with LMC. I am in Omaha Ne and I usually get my items in 2 days. This being the first purchase for me through them. I am not impressed with the customer service part of their company.

That's good to hear. Let us know how you like the parts once you receive them and start assembling them.

That matches all three experiences I've had ordering parts with them. I can't say the same for the dealings I've had with some of our other esteemed vendors.

Re: Looking for patch panels

Well I was excited to see when I got home today by my front door three large boxes. Was not as excited once I saw how bad the shipper had beat them. The left front fender box had a few holes but that was the inner side so the fender is fine, the right side box was all beat to crap and had two dents on it and the rear of the fender is misshaped. I email Nsane when I got home about it and the one missing cab support and I am sure I will hear back from them by Monday. I am hoping I can send the fender back and get my missing piece sent to me. Not like I am in too big of a hurry the truck is still in my garge completely assembled and running. Pretty happy about the time it took after the order was placed. Seven business days and nine days total from the time the order was placed to the time it was at my door shipped from TN to ID.

Not surprised they got beat up seeing the time of year they were shipped. My wife just had a canvas picture shipped to the house by the same carrier and that had a big hole in it too where they dropped something on it and stretched out the canvas in the center of the photo.

Re: Looking for patch panels

I work for usps (I'm sure it's no different than any other shipping company) and when people deliver packages, the machines that sort them don't care what's in the packages or anything. They literally get dumped on to a big conveyor belt. So a little nothing package could potentially be under a huge 70 pound package. Gotta make sure you completely package it well.

Ordered door skins from Top Banana on Tuesday 12-30 and they were delivered on Monday 1-5. You can never seem to get in touch with someone to actually talk to, but ordering online seems to work well. I just don't know what you would do if you had a problem.

Re: Looking for patch panels

Ok so here is the update. Ok as you all know I some of my stuff was damaged from the shipper, well I emailed Nsane about it Friday and it being end of the day on the west side of the country and them on the east side I didn't expect a reply until The following Monday. I got an email back from them that Saturday. They told me to send them a list and some pictures so I told them I would. By Tuesday I finally sent off the pics and a list (I am a bit of a procrastinator). I told them I understand how packages are handled once it leaves their hands but that I am an armature and will need the straightest panels possible. Well they emailed back and said a new fender and the damaged pieces are on the way and a mature or not I deserve the best merchandise. Talk about coustomer service. I will most definitely be returning to them for business. DeWayne and Michelle from Nsane Hotrodz are probably the easiest and nicest people I have worked with in this industry.

Re: Looking for patch panels

I received my order form top banana about 10 days after I ordered. Absolutely no contact in between. They are keyparts and all look good. Somehow top banana can sell the lower fleetside patch panels for less than half of any other competitor. I don't know how and I'm not complaining.

Re: Looking for patch panels

I ran across a place recently and purchased the head panel for my 65 short fleet bed and 4 new wheel tubs (to make 2 widened). Really good prices and free shipping! It all appears to be decent quality. It's called fixmyrust.com
