Re: Need replacement grille for 1986 dual headlamps

Those body colored trim pieces are actually stainless steel. I have three used sets and they all have rock dings but could be repaired. I am thinking about some sort of vinyl tape from a graphics or sign shop may be more durable than paint. They are also side specific and the bowtie also needs plastic spacers that don't come with the grille.

Would you be willing to part with a set? Maybe post pics to see how rock dinged they are?

Maybe so after I become a premium member, get closer to finishing my build and know for sure what I am going to have left over.

Re: Need replacement grille for 1986 dual headlamps

UPDATE: after months of searching, I was able to acquire a OEM van grille. I was told it is the same as the truck, just the mounting tabs are a little different. I just need to drill new holes on the grille so it will line up for the screws ( no biggie). I was also able to locate all 4 small chrome pieces for the sides ( all OEM). And then a fellow square body owner, hooked me up with the VERY HARD to find grille moldings. They were used but in very good condition. Got those cleaned up and installed new vinyl tape.
Now I'm just waiting to get the Emblem & spacers.

The grille turned out great! I am re-building my grille also. Where did you get the red vinyl tape for the stainless pieces?
