Re: How did you find this site?

I bought my first truck in August 2001 and signed on here in November 2003. Honestly I don't remember how I found the site but probably surfing the net for 1972 Chev truck info. I will be a member here until there is RIP under my name or Josh and Liz sell the site to someone that changes everything.

Re: How did you find this site?

I belonged to a Corvette Forum for many years, so when I bought my truck I figured there must be a forum out there. I found a couple, but this one by far is the best.

Re: How did you find this site?

I don't remember how I found it. I had a 71 K10, so I was probably searching for parts or info. I do know (possibly?) that my user name now and date joined is different from the first time I joined.

There was some not so friendly stuff being bantered about when I first joined so I just went, heck with this place. But it really was the only game in town so I came back, but had forgotten my original user name and password ... It might not have even been that long lol, I am a tad bit forgetful =) Or maybe this is my original name and join date and the other name was different because I couldn't remember this one ... then I did remember later ... you follow??? LOL!

Things were much nicer when I came back. This was the first bulletin board I had ever joined so I just needed to figure out how to navigate better and ignore the few butt heads that were around.

Made tons of friends, and I've learned a lot.

Re: How did you find this site?

Ok, I am seriously not kidding on this one...
About 15 years ago, I typed in a search into this new thing at the time named "Google" for:
67-72 Chevy Truck
www.67-72chevytrucks.com was the first site listed in results

On a side note.
My favorite thing to do when talking to people under about 25 years old is to say... "listen to me, I've been around... I am older than Google"

Re: How did you find this site?

Piece of cake.

I do 'net research as part of my work. These days, if there is anything worth talking about...there'll be a forum for it.

I've been on various fora since I started messing with this personal computer crap back in the 80's.

And here I is!

You can't do a Google search without this url popping up somewhere, somehow.

Re: How did you find this site?

I restored a 67 Ford Bronco and the Early Bronco forum was unbelievably helpful. Last week when I took on this 72 K10 project I just assumed there was a similar forum. BINGO! One quick Google search and here I am.

Re: How did you find this site?

I found this site through Google as well. When I was first contemplating the possibility of restoring my grandfather's truck, I decided to do some basic research. Google search for "1972 Chevrolet Custom 10" led me here.

I don't remember it being the first listing, but it was in the list as I was perusing. I've been here ever since.

Re: How did you find this site?

I seem to remember being on a "Majordomo" mailing list way back, but that might have been the Corvette list, not trucks... but that predates the web even. Then I didn't have a truck for about 10 years, left and came back...

Was this site a mailing list before it was a website, or was it always a web forum?

Re: How did you find this site?

Back in 2007 while in the Army, stationed in Germany, I was looking for parts on the interweb, so I order some when I returned to the states. Knowing that the "Goldmine" parts yard were disappearing fast., so I was looking for other sources, and I found a new Goldmine that will never run dry.

Re: How did you find this site?

I was hooked early in age on the 67-72's back in the 80's with my first car being a nice original 72 Chevy K20. I drove it for ten years (learned and loved it) then sold to better start the family life. A few years later I had to have another one then another. I've owned several since and was only interested in the K series. Local K series in any shape were always far and few in between to find. Of course when I started playing around with the computer and searching the internet, I plugged in 1972 Chevy 4x4, found this forum, saved it in my favorites and began reading the articles. I've learned a lot more and decided I needed to join. Has been and will continue to be a wealth of knowledge and great source for parts. Big thanks to the founders and to the many helpful members.

Oh by the way, I recently found my first K20 I sold over 20 years ago. I tried to buy it back and the owner said he wouldn't take a million bucks for it, that was even before he knew it had been mine at one time. Lol, Glad I bought the others I have now!
