Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Thanks for the intro. we will be watching for the "Latest" from Holley.
My questions at the moment are for your acc brackets for alt and PS for a new #19301326 engine that does not have any front Acc. equipment, At the moment AC is not in the build

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
I'd be glad to talk about the Holley accessory drive brackets; what specifically would you like to know, the part numbers?

Quote:
1.) alt-p/s bracket, Holley part no.20-135 2.) idler pulley, Holley part no. 97-150 or GM part no.12564401 3.) tensioner pulley, GM part no. 12569301 4.) p/s reservoir, GM part no. 26046502...and bracket, GM part no.12555222 You'll have to supply the alternator and p/s pump going this route, or you can buy the Holley 20-143 kit that includes the alternator and p/s pumps. Figuring out the belt you'll need is a process that is comprehensively described in the instructions included with the Holley brackets (you can access the instructions on the Holley website if you want to pre-read them). |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Ok, I am officially impressed. You work for Holley, it is Sunday afternoon and you are helping one of our own with the brackets he needs. Great service! Though hope you are getting down time for you.
Now I am going to buy something from you guys...maybe the Terminator system for my current build...don't know yet. Probably brackets I need for the build for sure. |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Just thinking aloud here... I (and probably others here as well) would love to see more of the behind the scenes development and production of these swap parts. The cad, prototyping, casting, machining, bending, etc.
Is that something that would be allowed? I understand the inner workings of things like this can be pretty secretive but as a machinist I like to see the process. ![]() |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
My big problem is the cooling system. No body makes a radiator other than the old school brass copper or newer plastic tank with aluminum core that will bolt right in. I've had a champion installed in my 90 Jimmy that was to short and said shop used the 73/80 low mount radiator bracket to hold it in. I ordered an LS swap radiator from summit and sent it back as well due to fitment issues. Judging by your pictures you have this cured. Is the radiator available to purchase yet?

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Thanx for the advice. This issue has been the biggest pain in my rear end of this entire swap.

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
I bought the 20-137 kit. I keep hearing of an install kit I will need. Can you advise what that is (and part number) please?

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Depending on the engine you are installing the kit with, you may need to use an available spacer kit to match the fore/aft offset of the Holley components with the water pump and balancer on your engine. What LS engine are you installing?

These are the part numbers of the Holley installation kits; pick the one you need based on the water pump/balancer offset you have on your engine... Corvette/CTSV - 21-1, F-Body/GTO- 21-2 or truck- 21-3 |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Ok enough talk lets get working on that chevelle stuff just kidding thanks for all the info especially on a Sunday. I'm using the cast iron manifolds on my conversion been on my truck for three years now not driven in the winter to much especially in the rain at all. I was just wondering what would have caused my black ceramic finish to look like this? It was heat cycled when new. Really love the fit but disappointed in finish.

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Ok, something I'm curious about on '67-'72 trucks. Bit of a weird question, and I can understand if you don't have the answer.
I made a set of homemade mounts that have similar bolt positions to these: https://holley.com/products/ls_power...parts/12622HKR Then I put the stock engine stands in the six cylinder position so the engine mounted in the same location. I used a set of used 2010 Camaro exhaust manifolds, and had to do a lot of sawing and welding on the stock engine stands to make them clear everything. Would the Hooker manifolds have cleared this?
