Re: Nearing completion
I finally got my seat covers in this weekend. Got the front and rear done and installed. Still need to work a few wrinkles out, but pretty happy with the results. Glad I don't do upholstery for a living, it is a ton of work and my hands are very tired from squeezing hog rings and stretching fabric. Will take a few days off and finish the middle seat.

Re: Nearing completion
Hey Burbdom,
I have been finalizing a front bumper project for my suburban. I painted it last night, installed it tonight and mounted winch and wired it up. Works like a champ. Didn't use any plans per say, but did use ideas from a lot of different bumper pictures. I didn't like the tube style winch bumpers and wanted something somewhat heavy duty. The winch cradle is 1/4 inch and the rest is 3/16 plate. I used my tubing roller to make a hoop of sorts out of 1 1/2 120 dom. The tubing braces made of the same. For the shackle mount, my plasma cutter isn't up to cutting 1" plate and can barely do 1/2, so I used 1/4 plate stacked 'em up and welded them together and ground the sides smooth. Took a bit, but came out better than expected. Still need to mount the flush mount LED flood lights. Paint is semi gloss black single stage urethane.

Re: Nearing completion
I really like the bumper. I think I'm going to build something similar one day.

Re: Nearing completion
Looks awesome. You've done a great job. Ive considered doing a similar bumper with a winch.
I'm in Mesa too so let me know if want to hit a local trail or two once you get her on the road. I don't get out as much as I'd like to.

Re: Nearing completion
I have the headliner in, but I really don't like it. Doesn't sit quite right. Gonna go with it for now and see if it grows on me. I used the patterns that are available on the forum and used Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP).

Re: Nearing completion
Thanks for the kind words. I posted in the "what did you do to your Suburban today" thread a couple of pics of my Slidebar radio install. I must say that it works amazeballs and I couldn't be happier with it. It has the Bluetooth hands free interface and has the ability to use an aux cord, 20 pin iPod/iPhone, and a USB. I can also use the Bluetooth to stream Pandora from my smartypants phone. I also installed the custom autosound kickpanel speakers with the pioneer speaker upgrade. Also have 2 matched speakers in the back installed in the rear a/c unit.
Slidebar closed to reveal 'stock' am/fm delco look Slidebar open showing digital read out. Can choose 5 different colors. Front right kickpanel, painted black abs to match interior door panels. Nice long cord for 20 pin iPod. Can control iPod from head unit--it is a bit tricky, just need to remember the order of pushing and twisting the knobs. I believe with an adapter I can go right into a iPhone 5 or 6. Dig my SPID! This is the button that you press to answer calls through the hands free device. I mounted the microphone up through the a pillar weatherstrip and it is hooked onto the sun visor. Works very well at highway speeds, frankly better than my wife's late model Tahoe.
