But from what I've observed and experienced we are pretty much Brothers and Sisters here - so we don't really do that (disrespect) each other around this forum. God knows I've written some stupid things too and nobody piled on to me when they could have. So this group is different - so maybe please take that into consideration next time. We're GM folk! Be happy - life is short |

Hey, I just realized something. You'll be receiving stolen goods! Does interstate mail make it a felony??
Sorry, not trying to waken the dead horse. Just havin' fun because it's so all good here we can actually joke like this with one other and take a poke or jab from time to time....right? What's that? ....... Hey! Watch it!!

Re: Vintage Steel Visor...
Got it sort of fitted today. Since I mounted it in a lower angle than it was designed for and used spacers to get a 1/2 inch gap along the roof line I will have to patch in the notch around the rain channel to get a cleaner look out of it, but I think Ill be happy when its done. I like the look it gives.

Re: Vintage Steel Visor...
That looks good! I wonder how much that will affect visibility; I have trouble with the roof line blocking line of sight to the traffic signal at some intersections... On the other hand, the truck will look cool stopped at that green light!

Re: Vintage Steel Visor...
Id like to see it with a larger better pic. Kinda hard to really get a good look at it. There are a couple of members on the board that have visors .. they look pretty good.

Re: Vintage Steel Visor...
There is a GM accessory floating around that is dash mounted with a prismatic lens that indicates the color of a citified traffic light. Or, you just pull your best John Milner and do the duck and glance up chop-top style

I had to google it. That's pretty neat, I've never heard of (or seen) those prisms. Were these ever a factory option from GM? Thanks for the info, Special-K. |

Re: Vintage Steel Visor...
Actually, I've never seen one like that. Pretty cool. In the '50s GM had a traffic light viewer as an accessory, but not sure about from factory. I think Cadillacs did come with them.
This is the one I had in mind: http://static.summitracing.com/globa....jpg?rep=False

Re: Vintage Steel Visor...
I don't have pictures of the '70 Custom/10 I had one of these on. But, I just stumbled onto pictures I took with the other one set on a '71 K/10 I had. I guess I took them for the guy who bought it
You can see the '71 Custom/30 wrecker with a fiberglass Supervisor from back even earlier days...like late '70s-early '80s

Re: Vintage Steel Visor...
I like em! I'm going to play around with some stainless steel idea's I have laying around out there...I think it's important that windshield visors compliment the body lines of the whole vehicle such as the front of the hood. That Vintage Steel visor does that to an extent...Looks good Possmguts!

Lunds look like they were made for a '78 Ford pickup or LTL9000
