I also got the urge to replace the muffler with something that would give me a little sound. You could barely hear it idle before. I picked up a Cherry Bomb glasspack from Auto Zone and put a turn down on it. It was only $25 so i wasnt too worried if it sounded bad, but i actually am really pleased with it. Gives the truck a good mellow sound, but not too loud or obnoxious at all.
good mellow sound and not obnoxious?

I think if the manufacturer ever read this, they would be upset. Glasspacks are basically made to be loud and obnoxious. Don't worry though, as time goes on and the packing breaks down, you will agree. LOL!

Glass packs are old school performance mufflers... Actually i think they sound pretty good myself, i had them on my daily driver for 6-7 years before they rusted out.

Yea, no major issues really with the install. their install instructions could be a little better, but its all pretty simple to figure out.

Truck looks great. I'm going from your identical old setup (PO heated spring) and have the CPP 3/5 ready to go, so its nice seeing validation that it'll look great.

Keep posting pics.

Re: new to the forum: '67 stepside build

gotta love new parts. Just waiting on my Spindles to get here tomorrow. sorry for the crappy pics...

Replaced all the ball joints and TREs. i'm also going to clean up and de-grease the front end once i get the truck outside. There was sooo much grease and buildup.

In one of the pictures it looks like you have a decent rake, then the last one it looks pretty level. Are my eyes playing tricks on me?

yeah, it does have a slight rake (which drives me crazy). Front fenders are at 27" and rear fenders are at 28.25" I think most of that is due to the larger tire out back. i'm running a 235 series tire for the front and a 265 series tire for the rear.

Re: new to the forum: '67 stepside build

well i got the bed looking alot better. its by no means a full resto, but good enough for now. i left everything in the bed, sanded down the existing wood and trim. I then stained the wood, and used a Exterior sealer over it all.
