Re: Old pictures of your current pickup
Really fine Longhorn. You did it up just right. The wheel treatment is classic truck!
Elliot949, PERFECT!

Re: Old pictures of your current pickup
First picture is a month or so after I brought it home from Arizona in 2005. Second one is at a local car show last year and the last one is my favorite with the boat in tow.

Back when she was my daily. That is a picture of a picture. The real pic was probably 1995 or so.

Re: Old pictures of your current pickup
Here's my truck with the original owners. I have some other photos from later years also. It's amazing that these are still with the truck 48 years later. I looked up the owners name that is written on this photo and also on the protecta-plate and it looks like they still live at the same address. The gap between the hood and the passenger side fender still looks the same. |

Thanks. They're US Mag Ramblers. I'd like to take credit for it all, but stole the idea and dimensions, including tires, from Walker. Discussion here includes sizing, etc.: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=703676
Numbers below. 18x8 in front with 4.5 backspace 18x9.5 in rear with 5.25 backspace 255/45/18 in front 295/45/18 in rear tires are Nitto NT-555 |

Re: Old pictures of your current pickup
I really like the pictures of your tucks I have seen and that is one of the reasons I have kept mine the way it is. I"m a huge fan of stock trucks. I am struggling with keeping the split rims though.. I've had two flats over the past two weeks on opposite sides of town. When you get a nail or screw in a tire that is on a split rim the flat is instant. Most recent flat, on my way to work this morning and its a darn good thing I had last weeks flat fixed asap or I would have been S.O.L. Someone posted a pic of a Longhorn with vintage deep dish aluminum slots on it a while back. Now that I would do.

Re: Old pictures of your current pickup
This pic is circa 1983. Original truck I bought from the original owner. I traded it for an HVAC system. Of course at the time, I had a hugger orange and white 72 super that was even nicer.

Re: Old pictures of your current pickup
I'll see if I can dig up more pics. For as long as the truck has been in the family, (my dad bought it in 1980) I don't seem to have that many pictures. It is currently stored in a friend's barn. Hasn't been on the road in years.
Originally 283, powerglide, manual choke, man steering and brakes, cloth seat, side trim, full wheel covers. White front bumper. Currently 305 HO,700r4, factory a/c conversion, power steering, power brakes, aftermarket cruise control. 90 Silverado seat (new take out) Has genuine GM replacement rockers |

Re: Old pictures of your current pickup
Here is vintage picture of my dad’s ’71 C20 taken somewhere around ’85-’87. Dad bought the truck in ’74.
Here is the truck as is currently sits, awaiting restoration. Add here is a portion of the original side boards that was on the truck when my dad purchased in in 1974. This spring, I found this side board as part of the back wall of the shed behind the truck in the second picture. (at my mom’s house, dad passed away in 1987). I also found the original 307 that I assumed had been scrapped.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Could be me, not sure. I know I spent a lot of time in that tobacco patch. Good to see some paint squirted on the truck. I cant wait to see it finished. |
