Ok awesome thanks for the info on the fuel setup! How do you like that Boyd's welding tank? It's definitely still on my list of options

Re: 69 swb turbo Ls swap

moving right along. I used db rods and minis in Taylor tx for my tank. very nice quality and he can build the top of your tank to fit any pump or sender. I used the stock fuel pump out of the donor truck (I know this won't work for you since you need more fuel).

Re: 69 swb turbo Ls swap

Thanks sounds great I'll have to check them out! I got the donor truck out of my driveway this evening, so I have more room to work now. I talked to my buddy pat who does my transmissions and they got the trans torn down and everything looks good nothing bad so they are gonna put a shift kit in it and some bushings and it will be good to go!
Talked to autometer today since I already have all autometer sport comp gauges they said if I get the electrical version of my speedo it will be a direct hookup to the sender in my 4l80e so that's good news!
Called 5-6 different lsx harness conpanies the only one I could get ahold of was modern vintage and talked to them for awhile and they had a lot of good things to say and were very helpful so they are on the top of my list now, hopefully will hear back from some other companies because I like to have options!
Turbo and wastegate should be here tomorrow will post pics when I get the package!! 🤑🤑🤑🤘🤘🤘

I had good luck with psi harness..I had one little issue (blade connector to fuel pump came loose) but they were quick to respond..

Re: 69 swb turbo Ls swap

Another pic from upfront! Need to get some 4 inch tubing for the downpipe and figure out my wastegate placement and order my ls swap radiator so I can make my hardlines for the coolant lines around the crossover, but I have a bunch of orders for turbo kits and catch cans so it might be a week or so before I get back on it.

Re: 69 swb turbo Ls swap

Nice work. Is there more room between the front of the motor than it looks? If not are you moving your radiator to the front side of the core support to fit your fans? It's hard to tell. Looks like all business under there!

Re: 69 swb turbo Ls swap

Thanks! Yea from that angle it doesn't show how much room there is with the fans installed there is about an 1-1/2 between fans and the the tubing I kept the crossover closer to the motor then the fans, I still need to get my ls swap radiator and might switch to a low profile fan setup but I plan on running the radiator in the factory position.

Man that looks tight! Will it cause any heat issues being that close?

Re: 69 swb turbo Ls swap

Thanks man! Once I get the new radiator in there I'm gonna decide if I want to move the radiator forward a little it looks like with a little bit of work I could move the radiator forward about 1-1/2 which I would be happy with! And if I get a low profile fan setup I could gain another 1-1/2 or so, so we will see!

Thanks for the support fellas! My Boyd's welding a1000 fuel tank came in the other day so if I can get some help this weekend I'm gonna try and get the bed off and take out the old fuel cell and install the last big piece!
