Here is where my buddy mounted mine. I did not want to get rid of the AM radio, so he made some brackets and it mounts to the bench seat. It beat the glove box. I know that would have caused me to get in accident. When I do the carpet, I will hide the wires. Excuse the mess in the burb. I have not had a chance to clean up since my trip.

Well I will tell you from experiance, don't cut the dash ! In Jenna's 71 the original radio is still in there and working !
![]() In the burb on the other hand well the dash was hacked all to hell, the radio I have in it now dose not even fit right, looks like some one cut it then beat it with a hammer to get the radio to fit. ![]() ![]() ![]() As for the 72 I am building, well the dash is going to get hacked, just because I want the CD/DVD player in the dash ! ![]() ![]() Good luck with your decision, just remember you are the one who will be driving it so make your self happy ! ![]()

As long as you've already shaved it and what not, there's no harm in hacking the dash up

If your not restoring an original truck.
CUT IT....thats where the radio belongs. Its in that location for a reason. Its not to safe to drive and search around for a remote or have to flip open a glove box. Use that AM radio for a paper weight in the garage or use it to throw at the neighbors cat when its taking a dump in your flower bed. |
