Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

I just bought one I found on CL. Plan is to make it run and drive and stop.
Yes folks, they still exist - I bought a 1963 SBFS with BBW Custom C10. Clean open SC title. ALL the fender, door and bed trim is still intact. Aluminum 1963 grille is great but missing one bezel. Custom stainless sail panels intact. Custom SW too but missing one piece. Original L6 with TOTT. Not running.
Pictures coming. Delivery this Thursday 2/23/17.

Here is how I found it. Give it a try where you live.
In the CARS+TRUCKS section, I typed C-10, because using the dash will get different results that C10 will get. The CL listing simply said ANTIQUE TRUCK. However the person listing it filled in the other details and gave the model as C-10.

NICE dump! BBW/350/TH400/GV over-under drive... https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/6010845793.html

I have to admit, I'm picturing it with a longbed on it...if it's the right frame length. Something is jumpin out at me... Perhaps the CustomCamper nameplate "placement". Looks low to me. Dunno. Anyway, real nice lookin truck.

Well, here it is. I was wrong about the engine. It has a 1971 250ci which I'm fairly sure will run. Notice that this is a Custom truck with all the trimmings. Super straight truck but has a few serious rust issues that need attention. Best of all, it has not been cut up. The engine is not original and the radio hole has been cut bigger (by dummy heads). Sheet metal in the bed is over the original wood. I think I found a really nice 1963.

If this truck is "super straight" like you describe, it needs to get some kind of award for being the most worn looking, yet undamaged truck ever. Yikes, that "patina" is downright painful!

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

66k20 bbw for $1500! It needs a little work, but you don't see a 66 K20 bbw every day... Did I mention it's a K20 bbw?
Ad says I has another bed to go with it. 327 (maybe) / 4-speed. Claims interior in decent condition, but no pics.
https://wyoming.craigslist.org/cto/6102958419.html

And that looks like a 66 K10 stepper sbw right next to it, although no mention if it's for sale. Has a 62 cowl on it, who knows the frankentruckenness of it.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

66 C20 Custom Camper: https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5991442990.html

It has more rust than it looks like based on discussion and a few extra pics the seller sent me when I originally expressed some interest - interior roof has some significant surface rust, and driver's side fender pretty shot. Probably lots more... However, it is an original white/saddle Custom Camper with original 327/granny 4 (which is why I called in the first place!). Runs and drives - being sold by a young guy (Ruben, spoke to him briefly on the phone) that doesn't have time/$ for it. He is looking to trade or sell for $3500. Not bad if the rust doesn't scare you away, especially considering it's a Custom Camper with the original 327 in it still. One of my favorite color combos.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/6008814748.html Looks pretty clean for $1000. the camper shell might be that much. I was wondering if it was a real ad but since there is a phone #. it just might be. Maybe he left out a 0.

I've found some of these old timers who are used to prices the way they use to be. The guy is at least 70 years old. @ Chevy Fleetside, you're in the Bay area. You could just run over there. You NEED another truck,, don't you?

No I don't, I need a gas saving car that will take me to Vegas for bowling tournaments not to mention Lake County is about a 2 hour drive

If this thing is truly $1550, that's close to the deal of the year in my book. Incredible buy at that price. I'd have been less surprised if it did have another zero at the end with the way stuff is over-priced these days. Maybe the other side of the truck is completely wrecked..... Someone go grab this!
