Sorry I forgot about this thread.

I am a vol. FF and on our county Tech Rescue team. I have been a FF for 25 years. We cover 60 sq miles and about 2000 people, plus several mile of interstate. We have 25 members, 2 engines, 1 tanker, 1 rescue, and 1 grass truck. No empty bays!

I see you have your own fire truck. I see deals all the time, but not sure what I would do with one.
I did buy our old weed rig around 17 years ago, it was a 1977 F-250 4x4 Highboy, 400m with a c-6 and PS, no other options, not even a radio, with 11K miles on it.
I got rid of the split rim wheels, and put bigger tires and aluminum wheels on it.
Took it to some cruise nights and a few shows, then sold it after about 3 years.
It just wasn't a GM!!

I have been working on my truck a little the last couple of months. Bought a new trim piece for the tailgate from Classic Ind., removed the rear bumper and had it sandblasted and repainted. I also removed the mudflaps and the receiver hitch. Got my new plate, and have been slowly polishing things up.

Very clean find. The paint is really coming back to life! The bumper appears to be a custom job riding a little too high on the body, I prefer the better fitting period silver painted barden bumper with the 5" drop below tailgate. IMO, this truck would look very sharp with white steelies and white hubcaps to contrast with the white top of cab.

Thanks for the reply, you are not the first one to suggest Steelies on this truck!
The PO ditched the split rims that were originally on it.
This bumper is original to the truck it is a Luverne, I tried to match the off white that it was painted when new. The rubber t!ts are off of a 50's car, and were installed when the truck was new also, so I felt like they needed to stay.
I am debating weather to have the truck professionally polished, I am getting some shine back but don't know how far to go with that.
