go to your local library and take a look at the Illinois Vehicle Code. for instance, volunteer firefighters run blue lights in central illinois, but in chicago you can't. blue lights are on detective cars in the city. yeah, WTF i know. in chicago, on Lake Shore Drive (keep in mind a U.S. highway, Route 41), you can't drive a pickup truck. how about all the soccer moms driving those 2 ton excursions, and the city buses.; like my half ton or little dakota is gonna tear up the road. about every law says...blah, blah, blah, except cook county. hell, our governor won't even live in the state mansion anymore, he lives in Chicago.

i live in california,,,,But the county i live in, "ALL" vehicles are exempt from smog,no matter what year they are,,,,,calaveras county,,,,,,,jeff
