A few steel retainers I missed.

Does anyone have a picture or source to the wire A/C wire & vacuum line retainers mounted on the bottom of the evaporator box? My notes say they're nylon, but I don't recall seeing etc. I added an image for the locations from the assm. manual.

Also, (ha), I'm trying to confirm which head the temperature sender is supposed to go on, for a BBC. Pretty sure it's the LH head. Mine is on the right, which is probably on me from long ago.

And, can anyone describe what retainers were used for the temperature wire, and perhaps a route description?

I'm bet the house (gulp) one of those valve cover retainers in post 25 is used (4th row, 2nd & 3rd piece), but I'd like to know of any retainers used behind the head or at the F/W. Thanks

Retainer for temp send wire on a SBC uses a retainer woven into the harness that affixes at the lower LH stud of the water pump.

My '70 402-equipped truck has the temp sender on the passenger's (right) side head, by the engine oil dip stick. It appears to be the factory routing. NB: the engine has been rebuilt, so it may be wrong, but that wire sits in the harness as looking proper.

Thanks Deadhead. I'll have to check the holes in the retainers, post 25, first image, last set of retainers stamped "9/16". The holes might be too large for 1/4" bolt, but they look close. Happen to know if it's rubber coated?

What the.....WATER PUMP? Hmmm, doesn't apply to BBC, the pump is out of the way.

Good to know, thanks. I wonder if the temp. sender would be in the way of the heat stove on a BBC, if on the LH side? That's a rhetorical? Makes more sense to be on the RH side anyway.

Can you describe how the wire is routed and any retainers? On my truck, the wire came off the RH (truck side) portion of the firewall block. Pretty sure it routes through the firewall gutter, then?

Been a while but does anybody know if these type of clips are reusable? I'm assuming yes, but I have yet to find an answer as to how...

These came off of my dads 1964 c10 LWB. I'm almost positive these have never been removed from the truck. EVER. #1 everything was covered with about 2" thick of neglect and road grime. #2 passengers side front drum brake spindle still has the factory stainless steel tag around the tie rod connection.

If there are reusable how do I reset them without destroying them?
Any and all help is much appreciated.
