Are those spacers for the 72 only doors? The screw below the vent window.

Subject came up 1/2 a year ago. Was a nice lead by the 67-72 encyclopedia. Pretty sure Deadhead knows, so he can't participate.:HA!

Are those spacers for taillight bezel screws. Two lower on both sides.

Re: Let's play name that part, bolt, harness, screw....
Come to think of it, seems there is a similar for the rear bezel screws. Might be a #8?.......................I don't know, maybe close, but they're called?

Re: Let's play name that part, bolt, harness, screw....
Parts manual says spacer for rear lamp - shape would conform to a screw. But where?? I wish these were spacers for the 72- only door panel screw. I'll confirm but shape doesn't seem right and I think there a wee bit too small. Anyone have a pic of another that illustrates location?

Don't have them handy, but I believe the 1/4" version for the 71ish panels are chrome plated or stainless.

How about these? 69 C10 CST we are working on has 7 of these. Thinking 71-72s might have a few more...

71 uses seven as well. They're probably stamped "SEMS".

Re: Let's play name that part, bolt, harness, screw....
Since no takers, I'll guess tire carrier. If those are 1", nearest screw I have is for the LH inner fender brace, but they have spin washers.

Re: Let's play name that part, bolt, harness, screw....
I just had an apprentice here at work change the bedside on a one owner Arizona truck.
I went over it with him, but forgot to tell him about those sleeves. Now we can't find them. I'm sure they got swept up with the dirt.

Re: Let's play name that part, bolt, harness, screw....
Pete, are you talking about the rear edge of the door panel, or at the wing vent?
Here is a shot of the wing vent screw and sleeve on the left and the taillight screw and sleeve on the right.

Re: Let's play name that part, bolt, harness, screw....
I feel that taillight trim spacer is one of the hardest parts to get a hold of, almost always missing. I sold 4 of those to a guy here last year for like $70 or something like that, I don't like selling them but he really wanted them...
I told a friend about those spacers, he just bought a 72 that he was fixing up and I was giving him some parts he was missing, he went to the junk yard and brought me back 5 or 6 of those spacers. |
