Re: '72 K10 swb cheyenne thoughts

I still base my opinion on the overall pkg and the sum of all the parts. First of all the op contends that it is at the least a factory swb 71. Second it is COMPLETE. Third , assuming it runs and drives, which of course remains to be seen, I say go and build the same truck for this money. Yes it has roof rot. Not a cab swap in my shop, but a partial a pillar and cut panel from a parts truck. One weekend at worst. The frame, also assuming it is solid elsewhere, is no more than removing the bed and cutting the center section out and welding it back solid. One Saturday in my opinion. I posess the skills to tackle it but maybe others would run. When its had the treatment of repair it wont be 8400 any more. It will be a 12-15000 dollar truck. It can be turned around and rust free ones are hard to find.

The money shot for me is the rusted upper windshield area. With rust there, you have to assume it's fully engaged into the cowl area including heater assembly, lower door pillars floor, inner and outer rockers and cab corners.

My guess it's worth about $4,000.

The 68 Chevy 4X4 with the 50th anniversary paint and trim that RenoKeene posted looks like a much better candidate to spend money on.
