You need to run 12 volt fused power into one terminal and then attach the wire you ran to the reverse lights to the other terminal. The switch is just a simple single pole switch . If the lights are on all the time the switch will need to be adjusted or possibly the wires will need to be reversed on the switch. Hope that helps
