Judging by your pics I'd say it a 67-72 frame none of the brackets are bolted on still has original rivets on cab mounts and there is no step up in the frame under the cab like the later square bodies had

How are the front brake pads fastened on do they have 2 pins that screw into the bracket or a Allen head bolt at the lower part of caliper with a slide key ?

Post a pic of the rear axle center cover this will help identify the rear but looking at the pic you posted it looks like a HO72 buy the shock mounts and has the original cast u bolt plates

thanks for the offer. Never had splits before so dont know much yet about the pros and cons of them. For now Ill just see what our local tire guy says about the rims when he sees them.

Also check the size of the rear wheel studs if they are 9/16" thread then it's
71-72 or newer rear the 70 and back rears had 1/2" wheel studs |

I know around here no one will change split wheel if that ring doesn't seat when you are airing the tire up it can fly off and cause serious injuries or death

They could have just did a ball joint and spindle swap I'd try getting tie rod ends for a 79 C/30

The last reman calipers I bought were not priced to bad I think around $35-40 a side at Napa

Dave from Loo-ray, how ya doin'? That truck was given a second go round on life is what it looks like. I think it's a '72 with a '67 front clip and maybe some newer parts were used to service the front end. Are those rear wheel studs 1/2"? If so, maybe it is earlier or just the rear is. The dump body and crossover box were probably done in the '80s or newer since that type of tool box wasn't around when these trucks were new.

Damn that's a nice truck though! There's going to be some hodge podge with these trucks as just about anything will fit them, they're quite versatile, especially since it's a work truck. I've had my '72 C25 for 21 years and I run it about 20,000 miles a year doing a myriad of things from dump runs to pulling 12,000 pound trailers across the country. Needless to say, even my engine is a hodge podge. The only major component I had original was the transmission and I have to change out the shifter forks. I love my truck but good god, going to the parts store is a life altering event!

I spend a good bit f time in that area, visiting my sister who lives in Rileyville. My truck is a hodge podege in ways and it is to make it better. I have an HEI ignition for one thing. It's a 4wd with 4" lift and rather than buy fancy expensive off road company longer brake hose I ask for 1986 C20 hoses because they are the right length. I run headers with the plug wires out the top. I ask for '75 Vette pug wires because they fit. And my starter I ask for a '96 Vette LT4, which is a small bodied starter. I can't think of anything else right now, but I have to keep track of what I change and find it is easier to let the parts person believe I have whatever the parts are from rather than confuse their mind set on make model year for fitment
All the 157" WB C/30s were cab & chassis and the only bed from factory would be the stake body. Must be a true '72 then, with 9/16" studs on rear, too. That's good news since everything is compatible with what came in years since. The '70-earlier trucks used the small studs and the 16" wheels were all split rim, and no newer than '70, so not just laying around everywhere. Using later wheels is no problem for your truck
