Thank you. That looks like a pretty nice set up.

Re: Kel's '50 GMC 1/2 ton build
Progress today - Got cab back on so my buddy could start mocking up wiring for LS swap. I was sanding on his '74 Vette prepping for painting. He bought the HP Tuners program to do my motor, he already did the wiring harness, I'm painting his car for payment..love it.
Also set cab, bed fenders on to check how everything looks, took some leafs outta the rear to get it where she sits now. See how she sits when wood & gas tank are installed. So far I like it., Kel

Re: Kel's '50 GMC 1/2 ton build
My update....just when I thought I was really getting the hang of this, reality check. I've been reading several other build threads, I realized I have much to learn. I'm just a hack trying to restore this 'ol girl...we have guys in here that are building masterpieces...

Copied Roger55 gas tank setup. Glad I read his entire thread before installing. I did the upside leak check before hand, no leaks, GTG, thanks Roger.

Re: Kel's '50 GMC 1/2 ton build
2001 Deville seats mocked up. Got the wiring figured out, mounts done, holes drilled, just need to fab something to cover bottom of seats. Also started mocking up brake lines.

Re: Kel's '50 GMC 1/2 ton build
All I can say is you have gotten more work done on this truck in a week than I do in six months on mine, you piss me off, yeah, I want to punch you in the throat, you piss me off!
No, really, awesome job, looking good and thank you for bringing another one of these old trucks back to life, they deserve it. Brian

I know what you mean about that though. When I did my Firebird, that's how I started, it worked, but my welds improved when I switched to gas.

DIY console. It's ok, I may or may not use it. Need to come up with a console lid.

Mocked up door panels, another DIY project - made bottom covers for seats to match console.

Coming along nicely!
In the last picture, you have a "liner" on the inside of the cab in back. What is that? Thanks, Robert |
