This is too wierd. My wife just came in as I am reading this thread and said she is going to get some oven cleaner and clean the oven before she cooks the turkey for thanksgiving. Now I imagine my oven a chevy orange color. LOL Your truck looks great and you are doing a fine job on the engine. Good luck on dropping it back in.

I scrubbed on it with degreaser and a scraper and just kind of pushed the grease around. Some guys here on the board recommended easy off and voila' it just hosed right off!!
Its clean enough to cook a turkey off it now!! Any recommendations on what to do with the waterpump?? I cleaned and sandblasted it. Should I just clear coat it with the some rattle can, or paint it black??

How many miles are on the engine and did you do a compression check on it before pulling it. I had a 307 that ran decent with a 2bbl. I bought a 4 barrell and an intake and put it on only to find out that the motor was tired. I then changed it out for agood vortec 350. I'd hate to see you go this far to find out it needs rings and bearings.

Yeah the compression was good, and it already had a 4 barrel on it. I got it all together tonight, but cant reduce the image size with the software on my home PC.
Would someone maybe do this if I e-mail the images to you?? Thanks!

Yeah I am familiar with Paint, but I have never been able to use it to compress my file size. How do you do that??

open the file, go to
image then stretch /skew then resize the horizontal and vertical and change the numbers (they must be the same) I change mine to 25 on both) Then go to attributes and check and make sure it is smaller than 640x480 Hope this helps a little! Shawn

Here is the latest photo. I installed my new stall convertor, bolted up the tranny and have it hanging on the hoist waiting to go in tomorrow!!
I just have to pressure wash my engine compartment and paint a little gloss black on the firewall!!
