Re: Solenoid to Motorized Fuel Tank Selector Valve
Does anyone have a photo of the terminal side of the switch D7003? The original switch was off of the truck, so I'm having I'm having trouble putting the 4 wires back to the correct terminals.
I know wires colors aren't always consistent and indicative, I have two black wires, one purple wires and one white wire that I think goes to the gauge. Thanks Fred |

Re: Solenoid to Motorized Fuel Tank Selector Valve
It's a 1970. It had a manual valve to switch tanks, but someone converted it to electric. Since I have two black I'thinking those are to the valves, the purple is my ground and the white is the power.
I will try that set up |

Re: Solenoid to Motorized Fuel Tank Selector Valve
Retrofits done by someone else are all kinds of fun sometimes.
The polarity of the switch to valve wires changes based on the switch position. It's a better idear to have four different color wires from the fuse panel through the switch to the valve on that system so you can ID each wire. Some colored tape or wire labels might help. I'd climb under the truck and take some notes and pictures then take more notes and pictures at the switch. You can reverse engineer it and figure out what they did it'll just take a few minutes. Look at the operation wiring diagrams in the 81-91 Motorized Valve part of the dual tank theory of operation thread. I posted a link to it in this thread. Ask questions if you need to.
