Re: What Mufflers Are Everyone Running?

I put on Magnaflow, I really like the rich sound. They do crackle a bit while they're cold. Running a '69 396 in my '70 with Hooker headers & 700R4.

Re: What Mufflers Are Everyone Running?

On my 71, 383 with long tube headers I had super 44s dump out the sides, it was loud but I was younger then and I liked it.
On my 70, 396 bbc, long tube , I had dynomax dump out the rear, really liked that set up.
Now on my 70, mid length , Delta 50s, dump out the rear, surprisingly pretty loud. I like this set up but if I was to do it over I would go with dynomax.

Re: What Mufflers Are Everyone Running?

I've had a pair of Flowmaster 40 series on my '72 since 2004. 350, TH350, no headers, full length. Otherwise it's stock as a rock. Literally only real modification that I've ever done to it. At the time they were the greatest thing ever. Was really happy with them for many years. Now I'm wishing I had something more mellow but I don't drive it nearly as much these days. I find myself tired of the drone when I drive it for several days in a row. Flow 40's are loud...

Re: What Mufflers Are Everyone Running?

I've got a pair of mufflers off a C6 Vette that have the vacuum canister. I haven't installed them because i haven't stuffed the LS in the truck yet. I'm not sure if they'll fit nicely because they're so dang big. I like the sound of my C6 so I should like these guys too.
Can someone explain the operation of the butterfly in these mufflers?
Thanks

Re: What Mufflers Are Everyone Running?

I'm running Flowmaster Delta 44's with H pipe and custom 2 1/2" pipe.
They are loud but not obnoxious. No drone and you can have a conversation in the cab.

Re: What Mufflers Are Everyone Running?

My mind will probably change, but my current plan is to run the JEGS brand mufflers when I get my truck up and running again. $30 per muffler. They sound pretty good to me. A couple of friends are using them, and we put them on custom build that we're doing in our shop.
