Re: 8 Track Mounting Brackets

I got mine yesterday. Thank you.

Question. One of them is angled. Is this the driver or passenger side bracket?

Edit. Looks like passenger side based on the pics

Re: 8 Track Mounting Brackets

Both brackets are angled to match the angle of the player. When installed properly the brackets will line up and fit flat to the dash surface. It will be obvious which way they go. If installed on the wrong side they will be out about 16 degrees combined from the flat front face of the player.
You may find you have to install the brackets on the player, line up the one bracket closest to the passenger side of the vehicle with the left screw under the heater control. Then mark the location of the hole for the bracket closest to the steering wheel with a felt tip marker. Set the player aside, center punch and drill this hole.
Remove the bracket closest to the steering wheel from the player and mount it to the dash hole you just drilled with a screw.
Then install the player on this bracket using the holes in the player body. Then install bracket on the other side to the screw under the heater control with the same screw you took out of the heater control.
Finally line up the long bracket to the heater diffuser screw.
See the photos I provided in the other posts and let me know how it works out.

Re: 8 Track Mounting Brackets

I hope everyone on the whole board ends up reading this. I ordered a set of these Brackets from Don having no idea what it would take to actually mount the player beyond attaching them to it; I want all of you to know that these brackets arrived and proved to be 100% dead on correct in design and fit like a glove. Don has also painstakingly photographed and was able to describe to me what parts had to be modified on the trucks accelerator pedal arm and throttle cable - I was able through a series of emails and studying his photos to see what he did and achieve the same mods with relative ease. Now my player is installed. I made some mods to what Don did based on materials I had readily available in my toolbox so I am happy to walk anyone through what is needed while its all fresh on my mind. Anyone possessing a set of these brackets who is now ready to attempt install can call / text me at 256 486 1988 and I will walk you through all of it - here's a few shots of mine post install and a couple shots Don had shared with me on bending the pedal arm etc. I'll explain when we talk
