Just like this.
https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/059/0282/10002/-1 Can’t beat the price. Not hard to make 350 hp with a cam change too. |

Re: 307 engine rebuild ?
Nothing wrong with a 307 if that is what you have. If you want to build your own engine It is as good as any to learn. If I had a 350 I would probably build that before a 307 but whatever. Also 2 bolt mains are more than adequate for any roughly stock or mild performance application, 4 bolts are nice but not worth extra effort to obtain. The later 1-piece rear seals and center-bolt valve covers really help with leaks. If I was to buy anything it would have those two things. Also the roller cams in later stuff is nice to have and lots less worry about cam break-in in a new build than with a flat tappet cam.

Re: 307 engine rebuild ?
He was already gone before 8 second turbo'd 4 bangers came about. The rules have changed. Some buy HP while others enjoy building it. Gotta love a good old 301 anyway!

Re: 307 engine rebuild ?
Don't waste your time, even if you get 400 hp they are not strong motors. Go a 350 if you want HP and durability. Make you a nice man cave table out of the 307, it will give you and your buddies a lot to talk about.

Re: 307 engine rebuild ?
But that turbo'd little 4-banger at 1/3 the displacement of a 454 can run circles around it. That is what I meant by "No replacement for displacement" doesn't hold water in these days since Smokey left us.
