Yes thankfully i have a three car garage with AC, just have to play musical vehicles with what is inside an outside. A/C and water are the only way to survive AZ heat

Re: Project Quarantine

Finally making some progress, went to replace missing wheel studs on front ended up repacking bearings on both front hubs, fixed studs and replaced the front shocks with some parts I had stashed away. Also drained and clear rear diff and refilled with fresh fluid. Pretty sure its been a long time since this truck has had any regular maintenance rear diff fluid was black and nasty, front wheel bearings had almost no grease left. Next up new rear shocks, replace carrier bearing changing distributor to an HEI from the points system its still running. Also put insurance on it today, off to the DMV tomorrow for plates. Hopefully will have the truck road worthy by the end of the weekend. It does move under its own power but needs some bugs worked out.

Re: Project Quarantine

Well a lot of little things seemed to snowball this last week, went to put in front shocks found crack in shock mount area, repaired. Went to replace rear shocks found two unique repairs by previous owners and received bent new shocks waited a couple days for replacements decided to replace bad carrier bearing that became a full driveshaft overhaul new u joints front to back. But with all the little sidesteps keep moving forward. Next up new starter, new distributor an work out all the other little gremlins. Truck is insured and tagged now so a little motivation to keep working on it as it can be legally driven now.

Re: Project Quarantine

Well wouldnt you know life got in the way, pulled old motor and transmission and mid swap got covid, got better, start new job, parents and inlaws both have health problems, get them doing better and six months flies by, decide to build a whole new race car and boom over a year has past, trying to get back on the truck soon hopefully. Oh and now picked up 71 K20 today. When you have time money seems gone, have money time seems less. What a cycle.

Re: Project Quarantine

Updates coming soon, havent gotten any progress aside from gathering parts. Recently acquired a complete short bed frame, muncie m21 4 speed. So debate now is whether to get engine and transmission back in and truck running while i prepare the short bed frame. Or go full frame up build and move body over which will require bed shortening or acquiring another bed.

Keeping it going had kinda been the theme of your thread so far. That's my vote. It's been my experience that having to repeat a few steps ends up being more productive in the long run because I stay more engaged with a running, driving project.

Re: Project Quarantine

Im in to follow the progress ......I know how stuff gets in the way ...nice stock car too you should be able to find a decent shorted donor out your way instead of cutting up the long bed .....

Re: Project Quarantine

Tracked down a bed locally actually yesterday. Also bought a complete 70 c10 short bed step side truck about a month ago. Have to stop racing 🏁 long enough to get some work done on both trucks now.
