Internationals are referred to (lovingly by IH afficionados) as cornbinders due to International's farm equipment heritage, from the days when you could literrally buy anything from them (down to coal they mined even). Even if you do want to use it as a slur, lets keep it in context please. :p Those old trucks are built incredibly solidly and one in good shape is definately worth fixing up IMO. They might not have as many creature comforts, but they are still great trucks. Of course, I'm not exactly one to care too much about a caddilac type ride... although the '70 sure is nice to drive... -Ryan |

Yeh I've owned one, thats why I say what I say,but remember its just my opinion, are you trying to compare the 67-72's to those 50's trucks, theres no comparison, If you don't mind them the way they are great, but if I was putting my wife in one it would be the 67-72.

Well our plan was to find a nice mid 50's body and swap it onto a shorty 72 frame
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...hreadid=708960 So as far as the ride goes, it would be the same as my truck. I'm not a huge fan of the clip job that was done on that frame. I am going to talk to the guy that did all the body work on it to see how much filler was put in it. Knowing him, he took a thousand pics of it in the progress stages, which is good. I never had a chance to call the current owner about it last night but I will be seeing him today sometime. The fenders are in the bed and need some work. It will probably be easier just to find a set of used or repro ones. Or if it's possible, I would like to swap the front clip to a 55 Chevy. There is a 55 Panel in the local yard that has a MINT front clip on it, and I could pick it up for a song. Once again, I will keep you updated

Don't worry bout it Casey, it takes ALOT to offend me in any way
I just tracked the guy down and he will take $1000 for it, and that's the bottom dollar. It is worth at least $1500 on any sale, so a grand isn't so bad. Now I just have to grab the money from the wifes cold deads hands and we'll be set I'll keep you guys updated Thanks for all the replies

Black primer, red steelies, maybe some red striped flames and a saddle blnket seat cover. I'll bet you could qualify for the old school club.

This is that paint job I wnat on it... or something close to it! And Casey... I'm not too worried bout the muscling it around thing. That's one of the things you expect in a 50 yr old vehicle!
