I made a center console. I didnt want to cut up the dash to install a cd player. I built this console installed a alpine cd player ( ( tilts up in the front do you can see the face kind neat) a tach (kind of hard to see not really in a great spot) a old style clock and a oil presure guauge. My truck came stock with a am-fm radio. I took it out years ago to install a crapy tape player. I located one at a u-pull it. Installed it back into its proper location.I can ride three people in my truck even with the console.

That looks pretty cool. I might try something like that if I can build something that I can keep out of the way.

I used an air auto body saw that I got from Harbor Freight. It worked really slick. Nice straight cuts, variable speed, cost about forty bucks.

Here's what I did when I built it so heat would get out. As you see it has little round metal vents. The ones at the rear are for fresh air to the amps under the arm rest. The one at the front is for heat on the drivers side. The passenger side don't need one as the duct faces to the side anyway. The front side vent works OK, but placement is critical so the air will come out.

I think I decided that I'm going to go with one of those headliners from LMC that you can mount a radio in and it has four speakers in it.
