Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
Bought mine for $2500 back in October 2000. I am the third owner. I have around $15K in it now. The only original sheet metal left are the driver's door and hood. It is a base model and had a 250/3OTT, now has 402/TH400. Here is a current pic, can’t find a pic of it then.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
Thanks. I've improved it a bit. I've probably spent $3,000 or so on it. That, and a lot of hours.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
I traded a 2005 GMC Envoy for a '67 Chevy long bed 5 years ago. The 67 was a long bed that ran and had a new wiring harness in it. From what I could tell I was about the fifth owner. So it was quite the mess when I started to work on it.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
Bought my 72 C10 Cheyenne off Craigslist for 16k in April of 2020. From the outside and interior was a eye catcher. Other than the buddy seats and rally rims she was stock. A/C didn't work, ran a little rough but not horrible. She leaked oil and transmission fluid everywhere it seemed.
My brother & shop friends said I got a pretty good deal on her. Nothing really had been dorked with under the hood / engine. It was like it had rolled off the assembly line and the 94k odometer hadn't been rolled over in their opinion. Since then I put roughly 16k into her. Engine/Transmission rebuild, 134r conversion, new tailgate (because I bent it), new frontend, shocks, tires, tilt, radio, tach, LEDs, side tire mout, gee it goes on and on for my Honey-Do list but right now I am running out of things to do to her! Photos when I got her, last one is what she looks like now.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
Thank you Stocker, I am a total ham for compliments!
I forgot to mention, I had her in the shop before my road trip to East Texas to have the drive shaft(s), U-Joints, Carrier and rear end inspected (just needed a cover seal replacement and was sorely overdue for a oil change) - that was the last major section not looked at. Anyways, the shop owner floated 30k to me for a interested buyer - everytime she goes in, seems someone is asking if she is for sale. I didn't even entertain it or respond with a counter price. He said he wouldn't sale her for 30k either. I do have her insured for 25k, which is the max with my carrier will do without a 3rd party appraisal. I do need to sort out getting one of those.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
I got my '72 from StreetSide Classics in Dallas, had it shipped here to Jax via Reliable.
I paid $24k, and it was a steal. Numbers matching, original Texas survivor with just 46k miles in fantastic condition. All stock with the exception of later year Rallyes, but I love them. Original paint, except for inside the bed, and the top of the bedsides above the white. Verified with a paint gauge. She's a Cheyenne Super, A/C, PS, PB, 350V8, TH350 Auto. Had to have the carb adjusted, and new exhaust, but other than that she runs like a dream. Probably will go the way @Rich72C10 did and totally re-do the front suspension and maybe add the front sway bar. I'm keeping her as stock as possible, not cutting her down, no LS swap... Survivor she stays... Oh and she's insured for $30k with Hagerty. No appraisal needed.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
$7,500 in 2015 I think. Barn painted with single stage paint in the Sierra foothills. Many things done to it since then, engine, paint, suspension, blah, blah. Afraid to add up what is in to it. Fun, sometimes frustrating, experience.Unbelievable how much you learn, and how much great information and help came from this board.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
Considering what would be spent on a truck to look that good and yours is original with 46K I think you did damn good. Very nice truck.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
ya, I am totally jealous of ChevyGuyNC's truck - it has exactly the two things I really wished I had.... Green/White and Super.
@ChevyGuyNC - if you do the front end / sway bar - you will not be disappointed. I got all the normal parts off RockAuto (Mogg line) and the sway bar off sumit. The parts are that bad of the price. Though the install was a ***** for my shop - I am totally glad my brother and I didn't try it. But there have been many forum members that have....

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
I think the biggest price difference is where you live .I paid $12000 for my 71 GMC in 2015 .All i have done is the wood floor in the box and carpet in the cab .You cant find rust free here for under $25000 now.

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
Front sway bar is an easy bolt on upgrade and well worth it IMO

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
I paid too much for what I ended up getting. Paid $7000 I believe in 2017. It had everything I wanted including a lot of hidden rust. Lol I’m setting gaps and and starting body work now. I’m hoping to paint this spring. I never really get to concerned on how much I paid for it or have invested in it. (My wife may see it differently). I chock it all up to recreation and education. Where else can you build friendships and family bonds without leaving your garage.

I’m sure he likes your truck. Think he was asking if it was in that great condition when you bought it
Beautiful truck

Re: When did you purchase your Truck and How much?
The first three pictures were when I brought it home. It was low on tranny fluid, serviced it and drove it. My son buffed out the paint, that's the fourth picture. Still haven't done any motor or tranny work.
