Re: Lets go junkyarding... with pics.

That was a pretty rich honey hole.

I admire the paved yards in CA, but I didn't think about bad grease/oil build up. Back here we either bring a piece of cardboard or carpet to lay out, or find floor mats, hood insulation, whatever. Basically, getting parts from a junkyard is a dirty job but someone has to do it

It is a fair amount of work, scrapes and bruises etc, but at the end of the day, hopefully, you can smile on the way home.

Not sure what you consider close, but this one was just over 3 hours from me.

Re: Lets go junkyarding... with pics.

Just stopped by this yard today to look for a few items. I seen those two trucks and had to check them out. I had a hunch those where the trucks. Asked the guy at the counter about them. He was not a very personable person. Nice score. They have thinned out those trucks since the last time I was there

Last time i was there all the trucks were to the left as you walked in the yard. Now everything to the left is not for sale i guess. (including those 2 trucks) I talked with the guy that owns them and we struck a deal. Nice guy. He doesn't work behind the counter.

Very nice parts scores! Good finds in yards are getting harder to find.
