It was a crime of opportunity, not because they wanted it. The cops will find it tore up in a few days. Don't sweat it, that's what insurance is for. It just a new box on wheels anyway, and can be replaced with a new one just like it in less than a day. She should be more careful next time though.

I think it's pretty optimistic to think you're going to find it by driving around Houston all day. What are there, like a million people in Houston?
Seriously, there must be 1000 Cavaliers just like that around town.

Well, TX, there are actually over 3 million people within the city limits alone, not counting the surrounding counties. So I would say they are being way optimistic about finding it. The real problem about stolen cars is that they are usually not found unless the car is abandoned and someone reports it as such, or the theif is pulled over in it for speeding or running a light. Don't waste your time Dinnut, go to the movies and check your messages periodically for the cops calling to say they found it trashed and out of gas on the side of the road somewhere.

I'd make one call to the insurance company, and get a new one, don't worry about a easily replaced car, unless I'm missing something here there is insurance on it right?

of course there is insurance. but, bc of that law roosters 67 pointed out, leaving the keys in an unattended vehicle is against the law and that is what happened they accidentally left the keys in the door. and someone took it. so they might or might not pay.
and we still owe the whole amount of money on the car almost. weve only had the car since february. and now our insurance rates are going to go way up and its going to make it harder for me to drive because insurance is already going to increase so much when i start driving.
