Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
Any chance you've got the build sheet on that truck? Maybe behind the seat? Would love to see it if so.

Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
The build sheet is definitely under the seat. I peeked under and its there. But not much of it left. I am going to pull the seat out this weekend and try to get pictures of whats left. I am hoping to get some answers from it.

Oh that is fantastic. Happy for you...but for me too. There's going to be some info on that build sheet that will help me on my truck.

Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
I've really slacked off on keeping up with all the nitty gritty factory data. I did know this about the trim. The trim is not an automatic feature of the Custom trim option, but 99% of them did come through with the trim.
There certainly are exceptions to what is in print. The first one of these trucks I owned was a Highlander with upper trim-only, 3spd so no tilt, solid color, and no a/c. Very odd to be a Highlander that had so much of this savings package deleted. It wasn't ordered for the savings but more to get some Highlander features otherwise unavailable

Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
I agree. Was it common for them to put one under the seat and one on the back? I've never seen a truck with 2 of them.

Pretty cool.
I have seen them with one on the seat and one taped to the tank. But, I have never seen one on the back and the bottom of the seat. ![]() |

Not sure to be honest but I seem to recall one member finding three total in one truck.

Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
Is there a service available that can offer the complete history of a vehicle similar to what is done if you own a Ford? Ford owners do not have to rely on a sheet of paper that eventually disintegrates over time.https://www.martiauto.com/martireports.cfm

Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
I found one in jigsaw pieces in the passenger door. Maybe it had fallen off being taped to the window. Fremont truck. I've since lost it.

Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
Well, I had no intentions of selling this truck but a fellow member needed it more than I did. I'm very happy with where it went and I'll let him speak up if he wants to. This forum and these trucks are surrounded by some of the best people I have ever dealt with. On to the next one!

Re: Mountain Find - 1970 GMC K2500
Well...it's no secret that I liked this truck. Not only is it a 70 Fremont K20...it's dk gold/red. I'm eyeball deep in a 70 Fremont K20 build already, so my brother and I picked it up together and it'll give us another one to work on together. But we shipped it to his house, so I'm afraid I've already lost my stake.
Austin, I can't echo your sentiments enough. I love this board and the folks on it as much or more than the trucks. I am so grateful to you for saving this truck and even more so for giving us the opportunity to pick up the baton and move it forward. Thanks bud. Gotta find a vintage Coors tag though...it's red and gold and from Colorado! Which is how they end up getting named around here. I'm working on Michigan...Utah and Colorado pictured below.

Congrats Brad! Dark Gold poly is one of my favorite colors. That red interior is the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. Wouldn't have thought it would be a good combo but I really dig it. What are the plans for it?

I don't know if it'll ever be a full resto. Just a fix what's wrong right now and enjoy. I can't wait to get that red Z62 seat done. I'm working on a full nut and bolt truck right now and I like that...but just sorting them out and enjoying them is a ton of fun too.

My 70 has the same color steering wheel and column. Does anyone know what color that is?
