Thats a cool lookin primer, i first thought it was some kind of base coat. What did you end up doing for a gas tank filler? Did you scrap that tail light filler?

I think I am just going to weld the tail light housing in the box. I cut out the old mounting points. Theen I am going to get a gas door off a car that has a remote opener and graft it into the box side.

door handles
I noticed you are going to recontour your handles and get them replated. A lot easier fix is to use PT Cruiser door handles. They still use a center button and retain a similar look. They just look a lot slicker, kinda nostalgic. Not trying to turn you one way or the other(it is your truck) but I did them on my Suburban and they look killer. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/489596/3
