Re: Sideways Saturday

Nice '68. I like the ''Australian'' orientation.
Looks like Advance Auto is merging with, buying into, or taking over Pep Boys here in Tucson.

Pep Boys in Modesto has now become strictly Auto Repair, Lube Service, Brakes and Tires

No more parts and accessories. I found out when I stopped by to get a case of oil and the shelves were almost bare and everything was at 50-70% off.

Nothing worth buying was left.

That's what my Buddy was telling me. Just a brake and tire shop. Advance will handle the parts, I guess. No biggie to me I was never a big PepBoys fan. No real problems with them, but both their nearest stores were 7 miles away. Seven miles south or 7 miles west. Checker Auto was the closest at 1 - 1-1/2 miles out. When O'Reilly's bought out Checker, AutoZone set up across the street, knowing the real competition was gone.
Will Advance be any improvement, or are they all just Samo-Samo?

Thank you.
I was on narrow high crowned road with ditches, the sun was setting, very red and I was using a circular polarizer filter.

Re: Sideways Saturday

Some uninsured POS darted out into traffic when he couldn't see. Of course he hit someone and that person hit me. I was the innocent random victim sitting in traffic waiting for a traffic light to change.
The impact bent the axle tubes. One additional benefit of having large tires. I'd bet if I'd had 750-16's on the back, they would have slid sideways and the axle would have survived.
