The clock is cool: I also like the cloth, its gonna look good, great idea with the oven cleaner, the worst part of that job was all the crud created lots of dust,

The oven cleaned stayed on overnight and did a great job. Will still have to be sanded and polished, but for $2.50 for chemicals I couldn't go wrong. I'll get some pics up tonight.

Issue is I had 4 of them that came with my 64...painted white of course and weren't in to bad a shape...course I scrapped them!

I hear a lot of that. I have known quite a few people who bought trucks and through away a lot of nice OEM parts.

Allright....cloth arrived last night. The pictures don't do the vinyl or the cloth any justice. Just can't get good light inside to really pic up the color, but heres what I could get that looked decent.

The lights keep a brown dirty tint to the material that is not there. The top pic came out the best.

And a big thumbs up to SMS for their end on getting the material here. Took one week from order in WA to delivery in NC. And well pleased with the quality of the material and the professionalism of SMS as I have read conflicting stuff....most of the time issues seem to be with having them make covers from what I read. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again in the future.

And a few pics of the seat tracks. Before pic after only being washed and degreased and after oven cleaner. I have 1 sanded down and have started polishing. Have put the pass side valve cover on hold until seat tracks done as the seat will be used 1st.

Tracks were in really great condition prior to any work, so that definitely helped. There are a lot of manufacturing scratches and gouges that I've never noticed before until I started the sanding work. Have worked out what I can, but some will remain. I am only polishing the bases and handle as the tracks will never be seen.

Thanks.....everything is in and ready now, so just waiting on the upholstery shop. They will be ready at the 1st of the year. This will give me time to finish the track polishing as they don't need the tracks anyways. I can't wait to see it completed.

I'll get some pics up tonight of the polishing I've done so far. You'd be surprised how nice the tracks will polish up once the metal is sanded down and the blemishes removed.

Picked up a 1/2yard of white vinyl while getting my mom a gift card to her favorite sewing store. 1/2 off today too....cool deal.

Heres a pic with all the materials including the belts I'll be using. The white makes a big difference. The OEM buckles sure look good w/new material.

Picture of the driver side seat track I'm working on. The rear mount is done. As you can see, they polish up real nice. I'm working on the handle and surrounding area now. Have all the big gouges sanded down, so will polish that part tonight. Then the front of the track which I've only gone over w/heavy grit so far will be last. Should be on the pass side track sometime this weekend.

The tracks are starting to shine, well worth the effort. I really like the color combo, the white really contrast well against the blue, the cloth looks factory, well done.

thanks. seems like alot of effort for just a seat. material from 3 states, a cover from a 4th....but i know it'll look killer when done

Took me about 2 months to do my seat and it's just black and white. With all the custom fabrics your under par

Thanks....like most of my projects, if I had deep pockets it'd be done a lot faster. But I do what work I can to save cost and I enjoy the work. I have done a few seat reskins and they are pretty straight forward. But the deluxe seat is in a whole different ballpark and I do not sew, so the upholster will have to earn his money on this one .I drop everything off the 1st week in January, and he only expects a week or so to get it done and installed. I'll do the seat install myself, but for the time and money, I'll let him put it on the frame. I still have some floor work and carpet to lay down, so it'll be a few months down the road before it goes into the truck.
