If it's still rich then you need to go back in with them. I'd run them all the way in and then back them out a half turn at a time until the engine will idle smooth on it's own and then up your set screw a little if you need to.

Throttle response is controlled by many factors. A dual plane intake is good, no vacum leaks, a split plenum, a strong accelerator pump, proper timing, etc etc. When you have these factors taken care of you can get great throttle response from almost any carb that doesn't have issues.

cool well i guess the other carbs were crap


got it to idle down to 650-700 in drive (is that too low?)
and uncorked it i have the idle mixture screws 3/4 of a turn out

those would be good carbs for the truck. If you can get that quadrajet set up they are really good carbs. I have a friend back home that got his built from a friend that specializes in them.

sorry travis no videos yet ive been working on the ferd
got the rear o2 sensors welded in and fixed the wipers brake switch and 4 wheel drive with one fuse
that is crazy that all of that stuff works off of one fuse
