Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Still waiting on the q-jet rebuild. Getting frustrated, want to at least bolt one back on and fire her up!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Was getting tired of waiting-so I just picked up a rebuilt one from a board member. Now I'll have 3 q-jets in the end! Should be able to get one to do the job.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Got the mounts done today, turned out just the way I wanted them. Got them drilled, painted and ready to mount up. Still have to drill the windshield frame top lip to line up but made a couple of templates to make them fit perfectly. Very happy with the way they turned out, not show quality but just right for my custom build! Got some pic's for ya Swamprat!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

So, I got a new 4 core radiator for my 383 stroker swap. Been collecting stuff to use when the install happens. 383 stroker, 4 speed manual, no a/c. Any ideas on what pound radiator cap to run? Thank's in advance guy's!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Not much of a update, but it looks like Santa is going to bring some goodies afterall! A new Rampage jerry can tool box and a NOS jerry can mount with strap on the way! Plan on setting them up on the new custom rear bumper from CHAOS offroad!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Yes, Santa brought the new Rampage jerry can tool box, and the NOS jerry can mount! Which made me start ordering up new Craftsman tools to fill it up.Yea, I can't draw tools out of the pole barn everytime-Blazer needs the trail ready tools to be on hand when needed! Changed my mind on the mount, going to mount it inside behind the rear seats. Will still mount a jerry can for extra fuel on the rear bumper setup!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Well, it's a new year! 2015! Found this and am going to stick to it this year:

THE WAY TO GET STARTED IS TO QUIT TALKING AND BEGING DOING! 2015 is the year for me to really move ahead on this build! Body mounts and body work are next!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Completly off topic, but am working on a deal to buy a 1995 jeep wrangler for the wife. She stopped and looked at it the other day and wants it. It has the usual issues for a Mi vehicle, but not too bad. We both looked at it today, and I contacted the owner on the phone. Going to go and really check it out next weekend. If we pick it up it will just be a trail riding toy to beat on, and used as a trail rig-Don't have to worry about body damage so much. Body is rusty, but thats ok, no worries! More too come next weekend!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Working on filling up the Rampage jerry can tool box. Got a new set of screwdivers, and hand wrenches 1/4" through 5/8". Also a new set of pliers coming. All Craftsman from Sears. Not a lot of room in this box, but want the tools you might need. Any more ideas?

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Passed on the Jeep today, after further inspection. Price was right, but way too much rust. Good for me, one project is enough. Need to get this K5 done!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Still working on the tool box setup. Just ordered up a set of craftsman deep and shallow 3/8" sockets. I am going to need more storage for tools eventualy, but this is a start. Plan on using a military ammo container with mount to add to my tool stash!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Make sure you torque those spacer bolts a few times. I put some on my jeep, torqued them good n tight then drove around and torqued again. The studs never fully seated even though I couldn't tighten them anymore, short of the story my wife drove around the corner and lost a wheel. Guess it was my fault for thinking they were fully pressed in at the manufacturer.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Thank's man! Getting ready to start replacing the body mounts. I have a poly set to install that came with no bolts of course. Bought all the bolts, washers, and nuts from LMC. Kind of leary as to if they are going to be correct. Any advice guys?

WOW.. I haven't been on the site that much in the last few years. I remember when you started the build. It's looking real good now . Seeing this gives me the motivation I need to get back to working on my truck.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Thank's man! Real happy with the progress, but need to kick it up a notch now. The Humvee wheel and tire setup is temporary, but I do like the way it looks. 40" Nitto trail grapplers on B.A.D. wheels are on my list eventually. Got to get going on the body mount replacement next so I can do some light wheeling this summer!
