Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
wish I would have had a rotisserie when I started my cab work (my uncle actually had one, but somebody else was using it at the time. Great progress Drew! Your Daughter will be very surprised to see the progress when she comes home from college next break! If even to see it in epoxy primer!
Have a good one! Be

It looks great, but at the rate it's taking to get it done you'll be there until Christmas and "Well, I don't know what to say, except its Christmas, and we're all in misery."

File this under: not worth posting.
Just filling in some brackets and pockets for front end support and made these lower control arm mounts for the rear IRS. The little round mount is actually part of the unibody of the white Jaguar.... almost forgot about that donor car!

Frame is flyin now.
Prepping it for rust encapsulator paint and then Eastwood Chassis Black this weekend. not powder coating simply because I know I'll have to modify something when we get around to powerplant.

Was the LS in the silver 55 or the blue 57?

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
It was in the silver one. However, it looked like it had tubular upper control arms, at least that's what I thought they were. I have lots of pictures, of both of those cars, but the file sizes are pretty big. I can email them to you if you like, just pm me your email address....

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Saturday night picture time!! And its worth it!
Used some Eastwood products shown here. The inside the frame tube is the bomb! Floods paint in all directions at the end of that flexible tube. 1 good coat of paint over rust flat (primer for me) Then 2 good coats of Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black - satin.

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
I was just so sick of looking around and not seeing anything that looked done. I may end up having to cut and weld something for the power-train mounting/fitment, but just being paint - I can fix it easy.

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Looks great! What do you use for a gun for spraying the chassis black and how much did you "tarp off" the garage before you sprayed? I remember your positive pressure setup from the Frankie build, do you still use that?

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
That set up is great for the body of the car, but for the frame it was just a fan at the back of the frame blowing the fumes out the open garage door!
No gun either, but my index finger sure is tired from 9 tall spray cans - pictured earlier.

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Ah, I get it. 9 cans is a lot, in retrospect would you rather have used a gun?

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Nope, It gave me flexibility starting and stopping as opposed to having 1 shot at perfection mixing the one batch. I'll be painting several other things with this color also later.
