Re: Project "Old Aux"
I hate to sound like everyone else but the truck and the work that was done i guess i have to say it, looks amazing!!!!! I think you went with the right offset on the wheels as you say your not building a race truck but a cool street truck that will be fun to drive and go anywhere. With the price of gas i'll be lucky if i can afford to even drive my truck! Most of all, i hope you have fun driving it and showing it off! enjoy

Re: Project "Old Aux"
Eric has been great to work with. Been extremely patient in allowing me to use his truck to further develop some of my product ideas. I have put a lot of TLC into his ride to try and show him my appreciation.

Re: Project "Old Aux"
Awesome build! It's sooooo cool to see the classic look/lines but with improved suspension, brakes, and updated wheels/tires.
It also sounds like you both are being patient with each other, which can be tough. It seems you hear a lot of the bad (dishonest shop, impatient client). It's great to hear the good too! Thanks for that. Helps to balance-out perspectives. BTW - all I read everywhere is great products and great customer service. Kudos! Also, pretty cool that you have your own board Porterbuilt. Just signed-up. |

How much clearance did this setup have between the outside of the wheel and the fender when it was using the wider 69-72 rear end? If you wanted to stick with a 22x10 rim but just squeeze out a bit wider lip by going to the narrower 67-68 diff... how much could you go? I am assuming that the earlier differential buys you 1.5" more room overall so .75" per side. Could you go .5" more lip (5" backspacing by my math) and still end up with an additional .25" more clearance than you were enjoying when you had the wider diff? |

Re: Project "Old Aux"
Nice truck! But just curious why the bumper is lower than it should be or if the sheet metal is up in the front?

Re: Project "Old Aux"
It's cool. I figured there was something not finished. I just had to ask since I'll be running the bolt on body drop also. Looking good!

Re: Project "Old Aux"
It's just "thrown" on there. The sheetmetal has to come down a little (need to do a little clearancing on the core support) and the bumper isn't tightened up or adjusted yet.
