Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Dry test fit, good so far I need to grind the spindles having some minor issues. Billet hubs with ARP studs and mogul bearings and timken seals.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Rotors and calipers clear the wheel but as i predicted the caliper does not clear the spokes, need to run an adapter.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Gorgeous parts.
How much of a spacer are you going to need for the calipers to clear?

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
I managed to tear out the stock suspension including the stock steering column. I am waiting on tie rods and new custom brushed aluminum steering column shift with dash ignition and a ford 3/4 36 splined shaft with 3 bolt type steering wheel. For ignition I will run a push start no key Mega Dial Panel from Biondo on a custom dash gauge panel.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Yes I will use the Racepak gauge set up. I will incorporate the original radio as a kicker. After reviewing the sketch the left side lookd empty, might fill it in with a clock gauge, Choppd this one up just for U

Maybe the switches can go on the left side below the clock to balance things out then it will leave more room for some nifty audio / video pieces like a monitor or nav system to go in above the stock stereo location.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
I have to report that I was injured today while trying to install the springs on the hood hinges. Spring broke loose got air and hit me in the fore head above the eye. It took a minute to control the situation. I cleaned up went home early bummed. I realized it was deeper than I thougt so I went to the ER to stich up. I guess it's true when they say " blood sweat and tears" . I'll post sum pics later I'm on the iPhone waiting in the ER

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
I have had nothing but problems with the hood hinges its just a bad design, springs are to hard in some cases causing hoods to slighly bend. I odered some low tension springs from Jegs. If that doesnt work il $hit can the stock hinge and springs and go with these billet hinges, thing is there for a 72 some modding will be required.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
I did considered a revers hinge like covettes but that is like opening a can of worms. All the modding work and time to pull it off out wighs the benefits so that idea was canceled. I am also considering this design fabing the brakets is easy its finding a hinge that looks good is dificult factor

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Sweet build thread i like youre mudd flinging machine youre building. Bout those hinges I already ordered a set of those billet machined finish for the 72, with some creativity il make them work, but it would be great if some one offered them for the 73-80's. No one in the market offers them not Billet Specialties not Fesler not EMS. With that said make sure they patent the design going to be worth some serious $$
