I agree, and thanks for responding… since I am building a street machine, and not a show type truck, or back to original etc. I will not be needing any interior trim items, no headliner and what not(I have a custom aluminum dash) just odds and ends stuff… was looking for another option to LMC…

here it is, nothing fancy, stock colors for 1976, some cheesy chrome was supplied by the builder, i'll leave it
it's what's inside that counts LOL

will have an Edelbrock RPM intake and headers, I know a guy on another board that has a 87 swb wilh the same setup as mine, and I forget what headers will fit, but I have the email…

Oldsmobile 455…

specs...

Block bored .030 over
Honed with torque plates
Decked .010
Mains align honed
Crank turned/polished .010/.010, straightened
Factory rods reworked, ARP bolts
Factory cast high compression pistons advertised as 10.25:1 - .010 in the hole
Hastings moly rings
Clevite main/rod bearings
Melling high volume oil pump/pickup/drive rod
Rotating assembly balanced with dampener and flex plate installed
Clevite cam bearings
Bullet hyd flat tappet cam - .512 lift 230/284 duration on both int/ex on a 110 LS
Matching valve springs 110lbs closed, 285lbs open
Cloyes true double roller timing set
J-heads reworked (bowl hog, not ported) milled .022, new 2.07 int and 1.68 exhaust valves
New lifters/pushrods/rocker arms
Stock 4 barrel intake

touched base with Jim Lehart, progress coming along on my 461 Pontiac... maybe 2 more months..
I should do a poll to see which one, the Olds or Pontiac gets installed...

I'm biased, so I vote Olds! Also its been done several times. Not sure how well the Poncho fits? (mounts and exhaust?) Either way looks like fun!

i really need another project for one of these motors, but i just can't decide on what...

been cold here for days and days... waiting on motor mounts to come for my 455... using Olds 403 mounts from a 78 Trans Am so I can use the standard Chevy frame side mounts...

got the motor mounts for my engine... have to go back to Florida, my Dad's recovering from some surgery... will install and hook it up as soon as i'm back mid March

Going to be buying my gauge kit in the next couple of weeks, it's about the only electrical left that i need to get, then i can start wiring the truck...

after checking over my engine, the builder did not know a few Oldsmobile specific things... in the left rear of the engine, there is a 29/32" plug for the oil galley, behind that plug is the actual oil galley threaded pipe plug, well for the Olds engines, that galley pipe plug is supposed to have a .040 hole in it to oil the distributor gear...

so i have to pop that 29/32 freeze plug out and replace the galley pipe plug with the right one with the .040 hole in it... i already have them to replace, but is a bummer... delays delays grrrrrr
