Oh My God that truck is beautiful, you should do this for a living! You are a true craftsman, I wish I lived around there, I'd be more then happy to crawl around under your projects & be a wrench monkey just to learn from the Master! I really love what you have done to both of those beauties.

That thing's looking sweet! I hope to see/meet you at the Paso show in May! I still lack paint, interior, wheels, mirrors and a few misc. engine parts. Cross my fingers, I'll be there.

Not specifically, but I found this:
http://www.westcoastcruise.com/schedule.htm
I believe they sponsor the show. I've been busy doing OT to pay for the truck (now that the $30k I saved is exhausted) so my posts have been sparce and brief! My apologies to all. Better get back to work, lol.

Your post has over 29,000 views, that pretty much speaks for itself, most of my posts get about 10 views

Somehow I have to get me one that nice, (maybe i'll buy yours after I win the lottery) I'm from 58, I need a truck from 58 too!

I don't think I will make the Goodguy's show, I still have a lot of work yet to do before she's ready to show. I do plan on making Paso.

Re: 58 GMC Project

Well I think the weather man is a little ahead of himself. I thought this morning it would be cold but as right now it is still about 70 degrees, maybe a few degrees lower but not much. I went and worked on the truck today in a t-shirt. Well I guess it will get cold here soon and then I will have to stay inside because I hate the cold.

That's me, I hate the cold too. It's really hard to get out and work when you have to bundle up to stay warm.

Re: 58 GMC Project

Cal 58 GMC,

Would you possibly give me a measurement across the inside of the bottom door jamb. I want to check it against my truck. I'm having problems getting my doors lined back up after replacing the bottom hinge pocket and rear cab corners. I took measurements before and after and the are the same but somthing is not working out right. Any ideas on how to get the doors back in good shape?

Thanks,

B.Sharp

Re: 58 GMC Project

Not sure if I mislead you or you didn't understand. I need the dim. from front of door jamb to back of door jamb at the bottom. Should be around 3 feet. Please try again if you don't mind.

Thanks,

B.Sharp

Re: 58 GMC Project

you might want to try diaganolly too from certain points on the dooropening so see if the front or back dropped during welding
