Hey, new guy here. This is my '65 C20, just recently got it back on the road after sitting in the driveway for about 12 years. Been in the family since my great-grandpa bought it new.

Welcome to the forum

That looks like a decent solid truck. That is very cool that it has been in your family since new. What are your plans for it?

Some super nice trucks posted lately. I have some patch panels for the front fenders to do and then I plan to post mine.

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

Here is my '64 long step-side bed. It is a C10 with 292 and 4 speed. I bought it from the original owner outside of Flagstaff, AZ about 4-5 yrs ago. It is a driver and makes regular trips to the local lumberyard. I can haul 16' material with the tailgate down.

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

1962 C10 long bed fleetside. It had a '63 grill on it when I bought it, and since it didn't have the correct year grill anyway, I put this '61 grill on it that I modified because I like the 4 headlight look better, using headlamp relays out of an early 80's donor Datsun/Nissan pickup. The engine is a 350, the block code for which matches either a '71 El Camino with auto trans or a '71 Caprice/Impala Police Cruiser option with manual trans (not sure which one.) Either way, it is pretty quick off the line and pretty scary on the freeway due to the gearing in it's original 4 on the floor with granny gear and rear end. The color is a Butternut Squash primer/paint 2 in 1 out of a rattle can. The fat whitewalls are just used salvage yard tires that had raised white lettering before I grounded and sanded out the white band behind it. I'll post pictures of the interior once it's done, but it is going to be anchored by the bench seat with fold down center armrest in it now that I pulled out of a '67 Buick Electra. It is slightly narrow for the cab, but the seat backs line up nicely with and complement the double arch shape of the dashboard.

This is a really nice truck...I can tell you truly care about it...continue to enjoy the love that owning an classic automobile brings to most men!

Used Chevy side moldings on the bed and can instead of the GMC Moldings. Took gas tank from behind the seat and had a 50 gallon tank made and put under the tool box. Put on a set of 2005 1 ton Silverado 8 lug wheels and 17" tires. My next project is to add Power Steering, but I may keep it manual, that way I can keep the Old Lady out from behind the wheel...
Nice azz ride! I like the 50 gal gas tank idea for my project...thanks! This is the first I've seen that dead space around the rear window painted, in place of installing a larger window...awesomeness! It's a winner!!

Re: how about some pics of 60-66 long beds

I was on here briefly a while back with a '66 C20 that I wasn't able to keep for very long, but I recently picked up a '63 GMC 1/2 ton. Glad to be back on here, this forum is such a great source for info and it's awesome to see what others are doing with their trucks.

Thanks! It's going to be my daily so I just want to keep it running solid and looking pretty good. Probably refinish the wood in the bed, get some new tires and take care of all the little things. Need to find a tailgate for it too, PO had a camper top on there which preserved the bed wood pretty well but no idea what happened to the original tailgate.
