Re: What did you do to your truck today!
added a quart of engine oil and tranny fluid (it seems like as much money that I've spent on the engine and transmission that they wouldn't leak, but they still leak a little)
washed it, and looked at all the rust and bondo spots showing through and cried.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Came home from a motorcycle ride to a bike and rod show at Gowanda HD and put a new longer speedo cable on the Burb. Took her for a spin.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Got the 72 hosed out from the flood, didn't have the seat or gas tank in it so was a pretty easy job. Pulled the original rubber mat out and found out how bad the floorboard was rusted, definately needs some work but not the worst I've seen! Picked up a new master cylinder and wheel cylinders for the back, still need to buy new lines and calipers, but I was really happy after using my Autozone points and getting 20 bucks off the price. After returning my core I'll only have $14.95 in the MC and both WC's! Yes I'm happy!

Loaded it 5 times and moved about 15 miles. Actually that took from Monday through Thursday dodging the weather we had.

Repainted my front emblem. Decided to do something different and paint the small stripe red also. Not perfect, but it's better haha.

Not really today, but a couple days in the planning. I went over a couple of towns, gave a guy $650 and drug home my old suburban, and a new parts truck

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Thank you. I regretted getting rid of the burb the moment the front wheels hit the trailer. It had changed hands but only moved down a house evidently. The truck was basically a freebe. The burb has the classic rust, pass front rocker, tail lights and behind the wheel wells. I had to sell (basically gave away) all my Volkswagen stuff and I'm sad about that, but its going to a good home, and parts for these are a little easier to find

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Spent all week trying to get my [super aggravating] belt setup to work, I would have never thought the [rediculously irritating] 5 rib alternator setup off an 86 burb would be so difficult to make work. I couldn't find an alternator that lined up right, so I had to switch back to a v belt on the alt. Now since I already put the larger pulley on the ps pump and now had to put a smaller crank pulley on I have hardly any assist at idle. Grrrrrrr.... I did however take it on it's first drive in over 3 weeks tonight, it was great fun.
Then.... Pulled back under the carport, got out all happy, went to lock the door and found the key cylinder was very loose. I attribute that to slamming the door thanks to the new weather stipping. So now that's gotta be fixed. If it ain't one thing it's another!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Pulled the driver's door panel and reinstalled the lock cylinder retainer, no idea how it rattled loose. LMC part, awfully flimsy, gonna have to swap in an original I guess. Gonna take it to work tomorrow and wash it and adjust the doors.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Yesterday I took off the old MC on the 72 and pulled the back wheels, discovered the right side had been stuck on and had worn a groove in the drum. Oh well, just more parts to buy. I did score a great deal on a 98 Tahoe today to replace the 96 burb the recent flood damaged.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed injectors into the LS6 intake manifold, removed the truck intake manifold, and started installing the LS6 intake. My aftermarket sending unit was hitting on the throttle body, so I removed that and put in a pipe plug. Now the intake fits like it should. Just got to bolt it down and get a 90 degree -6 AN fitting for the fuel line.
