Great work, your truck definitely looks super on my screen! I guess I didn't realize those marquez tail lights were just the lenses. I'd like to get some someday but there always seems to be more important stuff on the list. Haha Your exhaust looks great too!

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

I did a walk around video with the LED lights operational. This is with the exhaust moved back. Still sounds good outside, and it's now bearable inside.

Link, just in case the above doesn't work.

Thanks! I'm not sure if I'm going to run LEDs for the rest or not. I was more concerned about making sure people behind me knew when I was stopping than anything else. With the old bulbs, they worked okay, but with all the new cars out there now blinding you with there brake lights, I thought it would be safer to make sure I had brighter lights too. I may leave the rest alone. At least for a while.

Yeah, they weren't too bad. I did have to ignore the instructions after it told me to drill a hole too big for the screws they provided to mount the board to the housing. Thankfully I had an extra housing laying around to fix the problem. I think the wiring was probably the hardest part, and it wasn't that hard.

Great work on the truck! I couldn't find it in the thread, so I'll ask: With your CPP modulars, did you get a narrower track width than before? Have you measured the difference from your previous spindles?

3/4" is what I've heard before, which may be true, but I'm not sure exactly. I didn't take an actual measurement before switching the spindles out, but I did notice about 1/2" per side. My scientific method was the tire marks left on the wheel wells from before to after I also took a rough measurement from ball joint to end of spindle.

Thanks for checking out my build. I haven't done anything lately. Been taking care of the "Honey do" list around the house. And I'm getting over a cold, so my energy has been lacking.

However, I did order some JBA "shorty" headers (what I've read and been told are actually mid-length) to replace the leaky bastard block huggers I have on there now. Need to get a few more things together so I can get them installed.

I still have a bunch of small items that I need to get installed too, so I don't have a lack of things to do, just not much time.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

Huh, been a while since I've posted in my own thread. I've been driving the truck to work a lot more lately, so not much to report.

But, I've been checking ebay (like I do often) and I've been watching for several things. It's just out of curiosity and looking for a good deal really, but all this "window shopping" has given me an itch that I'm getting really anxious to scratch... I'm going to start researching parts and things needed to swap in an LS engine and trans. I have a car to pay off first, but it's looking like that will be done around the new year, if a few things work out right.

I'll be looking for a good low mileage 6.0 or 6.2 with a 6L80E (or similar), but I'd consider a 5.3 or even a 4L80E or 4L60E if the price and mileage are low enough. My wish list is huge, but my budget is not, so I'll have to figure out the best way to go about it.

So I've almost made my decision on a 2016 6.0L (L96) and 6 speed from an express van. Found it at a wrecking yard. Van was damaged in shipping so it's practically brand new.

I know I have a few things that need to be changed, like dip sticks, fill tubes and oil pan. Looking into a cam swap and possibly doing an LS3 intake, but I'm hearing the accessories won't work. Still checking a few things for what I can do, like keeping the VVT and Flex Fuel ability. Not sure about Flex Fuel as we don't have many E85 stations in my area, but the ability to use it if needed is cool. Just don't know exactly what it will take yet.

I have ordered Dakota Digital VHX gauges already.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

Time to start a new chapter in this thread...

61 actual miles!!! Pulled from a 2016 Chevy Express 3500 Passenger Van. Its roof was damaged during transport and is apparently more to fix it than part it out.

Plans are to add headers and stuff it in, get it tuned and go. Might do a cam swap, but I want to keep the VVT (doesn't have DOD or AFM, so good there) so I'm a little limited right now, but still researching it.

I've already ordered Dakota Digital VHX gauges and an in-tank retrofit fuel pump from Tanks Inc.
