Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Chad I believe the 72 has a 4/6 drop with 20x8.5 and 20x10. We were actually discussing it cause Keith bought it that way and isn't sure. Maybe Rene (C/10 King) can shed some light on the subject

Chad, originally I thought it was ECC 3/5 drop but now I'm sure it's a 4/6 from ECC and Shawno was correct on the wheel sizes.

Hey Shawno, how long do you think Keith's new bucket seats will stay blue in the truck?

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Hey guys I need your thoughts. I'm not quite ready for the paint booth yet but am tired of my failed attempt at faux patina So I was thinking of getting some satin white and rattling the truck for now. What's your guys' thoughts? Eventually it will go back to the original red, love that color.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
I understand what you're saying, but honestly if you're luck is anything like mine I say leave well enough alone. Rattle can is going to just make things more difficult when you go to do your final paint job. Just my opinion. Satin (anything really) is kinda hard to maintain, dirt will stick to it (?) and it's tough to get the sheen to look right. You'll have spots that are too dull, spots that are too shiney.. but maybe you're a better painter than I am. Who knows. You asked for opinions .. I say leave it.
I think it looks cool as it is.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Thank you Chad. That's why I'm asking for opinions I would rather leave it be, cause its easier , but a part of me wants one color as well. Oh well we'll see how I feel in a day or two

x2, it looks cool, you are just tired of it cause you see it all the time. We all like it so don't change it until it's time to go red

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
I would just rock what you got until you can get it painted the way you want. I wouldn't rattle can it cause you would have to strip it all off to paint over it. Heck i would take what you have now anyday compared to what mine looks like Atleast your truck is solid. If mine was solid I would have definitely left the original paint and rocked it patina.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
I dig the truck the way it is, don't go flat with it. I think you would get sick of flat paint pretty quickly. If your truck is red under that white and you want to try to strip it back, you can use Easy off Oven cleaner on a small spot and let it set for a few minutes, then wipe it off and see if it peeled back any of those top coats back to the red. This method works really well if you pay attention and will get you back to the original paint without damaging it. I have done this many times.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread
Shawn, that looks nice. I was wondering if you had more pics of how you ran your exhaust system. I have seen a bit of it and was really wanting to run mine outside the frame too.
I think about an x-pipe or an h-pipe but still don't really want the pipes inside the rails... what do you think?
